Eurotrash Motorsports: W8 4Motion to BHW swap

BTW, Nitec, you should have a BNIB A/C compressor in one of the boxes... I ended up not needing it. I bought it on spec while troubleshooting what ended up being the MUCH more affordable harmonic balancer belt. Those clutchless compressors are $$$, even refurb'd.

    Diagnosing electronic parking brake fault

Just a 2-pin connector on the motor. We also replaced the dash switch - same problems. I'd thought battery as well, but it's only a year old, and these niggly issues pre-exist the new battery. I still think it's something related to battery (alternator?), but neither of us can really...

    Diagnosing electronic parking brake fault

Helping out a friend with an EPB fault (2007 B6 wagon). VCDS reports the following: 02433 - Supply Voltage for Right Parking Brake Motor (V283) 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - MIL ON Running through the diagnostic (from Ross-Tech), he can hear the motor moving, but it fails...

    Code 2564, what is it?

Adding my experience to this thread - 2004 Jetta PD: CEL came on about a ~week ago - along with an "Emissions Workshop!" warning in the FIS, which I thought was a bit odd - and the code was: 18996 - Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor Circuit P2564 - 000 - Signal too Low Doing the...

Front strut mount replacement 'How to'

Thinking on this now... I wonder if there was enough thread to jam the two top strut nuts together on the damper shaft and be able to apply enough torque to get the stubborn inner nut off?

Front strut mount replacement 'How to'

In case it's not been covered elsewhere in the thread... how to handle stripping the damper shaft Allen head... I had to replace front springs on my Koni FSD/Eibach kit this past weekend - both front springs were broken, both at the exact same point where the spring leaves the strut perch...

Cold weather no-start this morning - thoughts?

Ah! Thanks Bill... I thought there was another recall... your post reminded me: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showpost.php?p=3212354&postcount=9 Guess I never got around to that... :o (At least, it's not reflected in my records if I did.) If I go back to the ceramics... I'll need an ECU...

Cold weather no-start this morning - thoughts?

Well... jury is out on gelled fuel, because all it took to get going was ~4 hours on the Zerostart coolant heater. I'd pulled the TB cover just to confirm it wasn't something that catastrophic (it's amazing what wild conclusions you can fabricate for yourself to worry about...), and seeing that...

Cold weather no-start this morning - thoughts?

Battery and starter seem fine. As noted, battery is OEM and less than a year old... just 15k kms on it. Glow plugs are cycling fine, and engine is turning over fine, even after multiple attempts. Starter is original, with 200k on the car now, but can't see that being the problem. I've had...

Cold weather no-start this morning - thoughts?

Agreed... I'm a bit skeptical that is gelled fuel, but having never experienced it before, I'm not sure if it is consistent with my symptoms. And I am hoping that's all it is... A pretty wicked week for sure. I was in O'burg picking up some packages last week, but decided not to fill up...

    Coolant Heater Lower Grill Outlet

This really hasn't been an issue. For the most part the plug is not exposed to direct sunlight, and for another, it is a product intended for a boat, where that sort of condition appears to have been considered. That being said, I'm not sure Marinco imagined the plug having ice, snow, salt &...

Cold weather no-start this morning - thoughts?

A chilly day in rural west Ottawa this morning, and even though the Jetta was in the garage, it was showing -18^C, and she wouldn't start. About half-full on the tank of known-good diesel (from my usual high-turnover station), and the glow plug lights would take maybe up to 10 seconds to...

    Flashing battery light

Could be a failing/failed accessory belt tensioner, causing the belt to slip on the alternator pulley.
