I ran this turbo on my jetta 1.9 alh motor and totally loved it. It would boost vetter than the vnt15 at low rpms and it had great power on the top end. I ran it until i threw a rod through the block. From too much boost. Ill have to try and post up some pictures for you all.
Yes you will need...
Would this be better than rebuilding an alh lower end and putting eBay rods in it to hold power? I may go this route as I just threw a severely bent rod through my oil filter housing on my Jetta. Too much boost lol. These motors don't care for 35psi
Awesome. I wonder how much the kit would set me back. Shipping on a big crate like that is prob pretty steep. It probably worth it though if I dont have to buy two parts cars.
Hey was considering doing a 4 motion swap on my Jetta since I'm doing a 6 speed conversion. I know there's a lot there but I was wondering if I can do the swap with all the parts off of a Audi tt 1.8 Quattro or will I need parts off an r32 as well. Idk if the floor pans or rear axle / suspension...
Hey guys, Micah here from Oklahoma. I just wanted to say I made it home no issues at all. Stopped in St. Louis for a quick nap and after meeting with Frank, made it to Tulsa around 1 P.M. Sunday. I do like my new 4+ tune, its quite aggressive. It did bump the egts up quite a bit (1000F most...
Well, I want to come, I need to get an immo delete done on one of my ecus and I need to get stage 5 put on my jetta up from stage 3.
Its just going be a long drive from Oklahoma (14hrs). I managed to get friday off so I can get a head start on the trip in case I blow a boost pipe or some...
Sounds like a plan man! I think there are a lot of people who have this same problem controlling a vnt accurately w/out the wiring harness. Let us know how it works.
In my mind this would be perfect for a 1.6 because of the weak headgaskets and such. You can easily control your max boost with the turn of a knob. Honestly if it were mine I would watch my boost gauge and set the knob to where it would max out at 12psi on hard pulls and leave it there.
Yes, buy that and either find any junker alh tdi you can pull the n75 valve and map sensor off of and your set. If you wanted to spend money or didn't have a junker tdi floating around, you could just buy a new n75 valve and map sensor.
You will also need a bit of vacuum line as well to run...
Pop your timing belt cover off and see if it has diesel fuel residue on the inside and take a flashlight and look behind the injection pump sprocket to see if it is wet w/ diesel fuel. Mine got so hard to start, I thought I had an electronics issue because I couldnt see any fuel leaking out of...
Here is what you need: https://www.hansautoparts.com/ROT906021A-Turbo-Controller.aspx
The supplier is questionable, I wouldnt purchase anything from this dude unless it was piddly stuff like this. And I would definitely hook up a cheap boost gauge to make sure it was working how you want.
Ive got several sets here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T4-02B-GEARBOX-OEM-QUALITY-5TH-GEAR-PAIR-UPGRADE-0-658-HIGH-RATIO-27-41T/172270254236?hash=item281c1b789c:g:wUEAAOSwzlFbRyE0 Really reasonable and its all you need since the gasket is reusable. Ive probably put 20k on my set in my big...
Ok, so I had a car come in over the weekend and I'm trying to decide what to do.
The car is a 2006 BRM pd. It has 226k on it with the stock cam. One of the lifters ate through and the cam ripped the gut out of it and it damaged the end of the valve. It also gouged the lifter bore up...
Hey all, im struggling to find a replacement motor for my 97 jetta tdi. I really like the car, am willing to fix it up. I went on a trip in it yesterday and about an hour away from home the camshaft snapped in half on me so im sure the valves hit the pistons and all.
