Hi. So you’ve had a week to ‘look into it’. What did you find? Who breached the site, and what information did they get, if any? We’d like to know so as to secure other emails/accounts/passwords which may be tied to TDIClub.
Thanks
Hackers / extortionists breached TDIClub
Happened to me this week as well. They got email address and password. Haven’t logged in in about three years, until today when I changed email & password. Has this breach been reported to users? If so, I don’t remember getting the email. ***?
If there's a dealer near you who sells other cars nearby, like VW / Mazda, etc., have them convert the card to a dealership card. That's what we did - so now we have $500 lifetime cash to spend, but ONLY at that dealership. At the very worst, it's a free set of tires down the road.
world record!
lol. eat this, VW: http://cleanmpg.com/community/index.php?threads/53866/
enjoying the ride, but still miss the torque, albeit a little less every day...yeah Niro
Let's hope we aren't defrauded by KIA, seeing that the CEO is ex-Audi. Very glad to be rid of what was a great car when multi-thousand dollar parts weren't breaking down, which was quite often. Although I'll miss that low-end torque of the JSW, I'm sure the comfy ride, air-conditioned seats...
Yeah the Niro seems a little taller that way, plus it's got roof racks if you want to add external storage.
And......it's not a bloody VW product! The future is Korea! lol
Yes, surprisingly, there isn't as much storage room as there is in a Toyota Prius. and yes, the backseat is very roomy, which is one reason why we liked it, since we had extra people to cart along with us on trips. There's also AC and power in the back seat as well.
The Prius, Volt, C-Max...
Niro Touring mpg
First tank of gas is done - 45mpg with the Touring trim, which gets 5-10 mpg less than the other trims due to weight and tire size. Compared to the 2010 JSW TDI, which was averaging 34 mpg, the KIA Niro is quite an improvement.
As a current Mazda 3 owner, and ex-JSW TDI owner (who has the same respect for VW) please write us a final review after you've had the Mazda 6 on the road for a month. It's on my short list as well, primarily because of how fun and reliable the M3 was.
hmmmmm.....nice
This could be promising, at least if you like wagons:

might be a rebranded Opal?
even the older, gen 1 and 2's? It's been 18 months, and still no word on those fixes. Any day now people are saying. If VW had extended the DPF/EGR warranties to 120m I probably would have kept the car. But at 80k, and looking at replacing a THIRD DPF at $3k per repair, it was just too rich...
Sold our 2010 JSW back to VW today. The VWOA rep who checked the car in said she thought VW would do all it could to re-sell the cars and put them back on the road, due to "demand". She seemed confused about the years and models. I thought the settlement clearly stated a 'bought-back' car HAD...
lol. BINGO! That article mostly nails it. Does it have the power and torque of the TDI? Nope. Is it high enough off the ground? Nope. Does it come in trendy, matte colors? Nope. Does it do damn near everything I need and get great gas mileage? Yup. And after fiddling with the Mazda...
License plate and smog refunds?
so when the car gets turned in, should I keep the plates and try to get the DMV to refund me the remaining time (three months) that's on them? Can we apply for a refund for the ridiculous smog certificate that had to be done? Still have another 14 months to go...
Bought a Niro. Love it.
So far, so good. Thanks VW for messing up and giving me the awesome down-payment on what seems to be a fine auto going forward. What I lost in cubic feet, I made up in technology, comfort, and from what i'm told, reliability.
I just wish I could have waited another...
Bluetooth units? Back well pull-cover? floor mats? spare? tire kit? Is anyone turning in cars, successfully, without these things, or are VW being picky about something they're supposed to crush?
