Seatman you nailed it with the Maf being bad. I swapped in a friends working maf sensor and my power loss is fixed, now the car pulls hard all the way to the redline, very nice!!
Thanks for the help
Chris
OK I've done some searching on the forum and I can't find anything the same as this. So what happens is the car starts and runs good, start driving and all is fine untill I try to rev the car out in any gear. When the rpms seem to hit a level and the power dies off, it seems like the turbo cuts...
(03 Jetta)Yeah so the key lock in the drivers door won't work. The fob works great and all the doors work properly, it's just the key that dosen't work. I sprayed some penatrating oil in the lock tonight so i'll see in the morning if it helped. The key works in the trunk so i know the key is...
I'm looking for a write up on how to remove the manual transmission in my 03 jetta. I've done the search and found how to change the flywheel but not pull the trans. i'm sure there is one on this site somewhere, i just cant find it!
Thanks chris
Is there a replacement performance cam available for the ALH? I've used Castrol Syntec for 254 000km and zero pitting on the cam lobes when i did the TB 10k ago.
also does anyone have the write up for a how to swap the cv joints around? just need to know if there is any special tools needed or some kind of procedure that needs following. Thanks Chris
I already repacked the right inner joint with new grease because i had a minor vibration and it was fixed for awhile but this is much much worse so i figured i would just replace them this time but i can try and swap the inners around. but im still curious about where to get new ones just in...
I'm in need of some new cv joints as i have a fairly bad wobble under acceration but it goes away when you let of the go pedal. I've had bad luck with replacement axles in the past so i would rather rebuilt my stock vw axles. I found some on metalmanparts.com but are these OEM? is there...
Today my car (03 jetta) started to make a new noise. The car starts and runs normal. The turbo spools up normally to, but when i let off the gas to shift or slow down the car makes a loud air sounding whoosh for a second and then normal again. It's every time i let off the gas after the boost...
I checked the turbo for end play today and there is a very small amount maybe .010". So i don't think theres too much play, there was no oil in the intercooler it was actually dry, and the vanes moved freely with no stiff spots. So im thinking it was something else but it hasn't made the noise...
My girlfriend was driving it yesterday when the noise first appeared and the engine was hot, when i got home from work last night the engine was cold and the noise was still there. Now today with the engine cold it's gone? One day here, next day gone. I know my egr is spewing oil could that be...
I just took the car for a ride around the block to see if the noise is still there or getting worse, just trying to diagnose this noise. The noise is gone!! what the hell? So could this be the turbo? I would think if it was the turbo it would be there all the time, engine hot or cold. But maybe...
