    Decided to tackle the tranny today to find out what was wrong with the fifth gear. When I saw metal bits in the drain plug I decided to take the tranny out of the car.

    Little update on this thread since I haven't post anything in over a year and a half... Car now sits on air ride with 3sdm 0.06 wheels. It also has a full GLI leather interior, dark cherry tails, votex lip, chrome mirror caps, etc.!

    Help: O2J 5th gear doesn't work

    Bought a 2003 TDI 5 speed a few days ago and the 5th gear doesn't work. I can put it in 5th but nothing happens, it's like if the car was still in neutral. Anyone had this issue before and knows what to replace? Thanks.

    I dont get better mpg since I have a heavier foot since getting the car flashed haha and it sounds nice without being too loud.

    For rent: tools to change timing belt

    I bought the tools to change the timing belt and waterpump on my TDI (brm engine) and willing to rent then now that I won't use them before another 140,000kms. Paid $120 usd from dieselgeek.com + shipping, willing to rent for $40 (with $100 deposit). Located near Ottawa, Ontario.
