I'm selling it back. I love the car, but it makes too much sense from a financial standpoint.
The offer I'm getting for returning it is just too good. It'll bring my TCO for the car from $32k to $10k - can't say no to that.
Also, after Jan, I won't need to drive nearly as much every day...
I went to the post office but the machine asked for a pin. How does one acquire a pin for the card?
EDIT: Called up the number on the back and found it.
That's a brilliant Idea. Worth it to pay a buck to not manufacture $500 extra worth of spending by November. I'm going to the P-off today to get a money order.
Still have $450 on my dealer card. And $500 on the loyalty I am planning on buying up as many parts where shelf life doesn't matter for the next few oil changes (filters, oil, adblue, ???) and then getting service done somewhere else or do it myself. Already purchased the 20/30k and 40/50k...
One side of my rear defroster works great but the other side does not. It doesn't defrost evenly, so one side will still be fuzzy when the other is clear. No idea why that is happening. Not sure if it's related to your issue though. It's definitely not a fuse problem.
Do you know how much leeway the dealer will give for oil changes? I did my 10k change about 200 miles early for the same reason as OP but realize now that i can go a lot longer between changes. Blackstone suggested i go for at least 12k in their oil analysis report.
Just because I posted this yesterday, i noticed a regen happening today on my way home from work. I reset my trip meter, so i'll report back when it happens again.
Confirming the above two posts. I hit the thing and no more fluid would come out. Pretty solid indicator if i've ever seen one, just have to hope it doesn't happen when you need it most.
I'm looking on Blackstone's website, and they have a vacuum pump to pull oil through the dipstick tube thing. I'm not due for an oil change for quite some time, so i'm considering getting the pump and sending in a sample anyway.
Anyone know if there is there anything blocking access to the oil...
Can confirm. My mom just bought a Subaru Impreza and the dealer maintenance cost for the first 36k miles (they recommend maintenance every 6k miles) was almost twice as expensive than combination of VW Care and VW Care Plus. Subaru, Honda, Toyota are always raging about how inexpensive and easy...
I feel like i see quite a few MK7s around Bay Area. Might just be my noticing-bias, but i'd say about average 1-2 on my drive to work.
Rarely though do i see GSWs. I almost saw my mom in one, but she decided it was too big for her and started looking at the golf instead.
Not today, but i installed a front facing dashcam:

I think it looks a bit conspicuous, but i couldn't think of any better place to mount it. All of the wires hid nicely except for the few inches that lead up to the camera.
Awesome work. Doesn't look too bad. Might give it a shot myself even though the first oil change is free at dealer chip. In that case, I'll be back in about 9k miles. :D
Really? I always worry whether i forgot to not lock my car so that thieves don't have to break the windows. :p
I don't see the value in it. I barely find myself using it now when it's free.
