I just bought a 2003 Tdi and drove it maybe 15mi and there was smoke from the transmition and the tranny won't engage the gears. The dealer said they replaced the clutch. Can a clutch fry in as short as 15mi?? And do you guys know a good tdi mechanic open on saturdays in the Washington DC...

Another idea for the cell phones is to have your carrier unlock your phone if it uses sim cards and buy a prepay sim card up there. I am not sure on the rates of prepaid in Canada but the idea holds when traveling abroad as well.
