New front tires on the B4V... Not that it matters I can't drive it because the roads are salted and I REFUSE to drive this car in the salt. Tried to find wheels for it, but i gave up. Went with 15' toyos on the 5 lug bottle caps.... Assessed the rot on my MK3 TDI... its bad. Rear...

New exhaust turbo back. CAT and 5th injector removed. CAT was more than 50% clogged. Gasoline style CATs on a diesel are the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Yup it makes me wish i had another set of hands haha. Getting slack out from between the IP and crank gear is critical!!!. I think they changed the design for the ALH to fix this issue

Timing belt time! Took me 3 or 4 times to get it to run. Then another attempt to get it timed correctly. For what ever reason the pump doesnt like to sit where the timing pin fully engages. Did some experimenting with tensioning the belt with the pin in and out, pushing down on the pin...

Got the new turbo in the B4 GLX.... No more overboosting, builds a healthy 14-17psi. Oil consumption is way down... went from a quart every 600 miles to a less than a quart every 1,000. Still need to work on that. Definitely a bit high, but for 320,000 ehhh. Going to change the oil a...

what hubs work for 5 bolt swap on a B4V?

My B4V is a GLX car. TDI axles went right in. I believe VR and TDI transmissions "essentially " are the same.

    A3 Jetta Ac freezing up

Ya that should be here today from id parts... I don't think it's the issue, but It's worth a shot. Old school fixed orifice tube systems would cycle the clutch to regulate pressure. Where these cars have a metering device on the firewall and the compressor.

    A3 Jetta Ac freezing up

My fans work on low, however the belt drive fan has bearing noise I think. Like I said the AC system is over cooling. On a very hot day it's fine, if it's just hot outside the blower needs to be on high to prevent freezing up. If it's warm out, like running the ac to defogger the...

    A3 Jetta Ac freezing up

Hmmmm. I'll have to read up and study the system some more. Ac is like a meat cooler in this thing even with the fan on high.

    A3 Jetta Ac freezing up

I changed the expansion valve in hopes to fix the problem. Upon removal, I twisted the evaporator and ruined it. I doubt the new expansion valve is bad too. I'm going replace the cutout switches on the dryer which I'm confident won't fix anything. Then I'm going to evacuate it...
