No low beam headlights - please advise

Thanks to Abacus and his spare switch I have head lights. I am going to tear apart the old switch, but something inside the headlight switch assembly died. Replaced it and all is good to go...but my A/C has decided to stop working...lol. If it isn't one thing...it is another.

No low beam headlights - please advise

Thank you. I appreciate it. That should let me chase it down. Guess it could be a bad load reduction relay, but I assume that would shut down other equipment on the load reduction circuit too. Does the ignition switch play into this anywhere or is it the load reduction relay that the switch...

No low beam headlights - please advise

So wouldn't it make sense that the flash to pass circuit is functioning properly and has a separate path to power the lights wouldn't it point to the headlight switch? But your right. If I have the diagram it would take but a couple of minutes with a meter to diagnose. Thanks, Kevin

No low beam headlights - please advise

Thanks for the reply. I have a multi-meter; however, I have no diagram of how the ignition switch pins out so checking it becomes a little problematic. The switch is brand new, of course that doesn't mean it wasn't bad out of the box. I will definitely check out at the turn signal stalk, but...

No low beam headlights - please advise

Hi All, I am having a low beam headlight issue. I was driving, at night of course, and the headlights flashed a few times and died. DRLs work, but when I turn on the headlight switch they go out. High Beams work but I have to hold them on, they will not latch on. After researching multiple...

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

I appreciate it. When I was reading your thread I caught myself muttering, "there is no way..." That.is when I decided to go check.it...lol. I can't count how many times I have said there's.no way and it has almost always been the cause....thanks again.

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

G60ING called it. After taking my wheel and brake off for a 4th time I noticed the slightest run out in the rotor...I took the rotor off and I noticed in the hub. I tried to press the hub down tighter to see if it would go away, but it did not...I had a second bearing and hub for my left side...

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

I do not think it is canted. I installed it with the proper tools and watched it pull all the way to the rear snap ring and then the front snap ring installed cleanly against the bearing.

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

Thanks for all the advice....the right front that is wobbling has a new bearing and hub. I have re-torqued the CVs with new nuts on both wheels with new nuts. My only remaining idea is to change the brake pads from one side to the other and see if the problem follows.

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

Thank you for the idea...I will pull it apart and check for foreign debris. It was happening before the replacement...the right front wheel bearing had play at the 12 and 6 o'clock which is what started all of this maintenance. There was pedal pulsation before I replaced the wheel...

Help with pulsating brakes and wobble

Hello all, I have replaced a suspect front wheel bearing, replaced the LCA bushings, replaced rotors and pads, had the tires balanced, and the front end aligned. The axles also seem to be okay. I am lost at what can be causing the issue. There is a slight wobble in the steering wheel along...

    MKIII front hub and bearing

Thanks! Good pics....is there a waybto just change the bearing? I found the write up on the Mk4. Is it the same?

    MKIII front hub and bearing

Hello All, I have a quick question about front hubs and bearings. I think my right front bearing is done. It sounds like it is making noise from about 35 MPH on up. How hard are these to change? The parts do not seem to expensive, which usually means the "sweat equity" is pretty high. Will...

    A/C electrical 1998 Jetta TDI

Sorry for bad description. It is in the pressure switch. It really looks like shaving from machining of the threads, I just don't want to rip it out. I don't have place to put the pic online that I took of it so I can't post it here.

    A/C electrical 1998 Jetta TDI

Okay....got the pressure switch....ready to install, but have a quick question. Inside the port there is a wire looking thread. It could be left over from threading, but I don't want to pry it out because it just might be there on purpose (for what reason I cannot comprehend). On a side note...
