Replacing DMF Tired of all the run around from the dealers, no experienced local guys to be had so I will be replacing the DMF myself. Plenty of previous experience on american cars and trucks pulling transmissions and replacing clutches. Have not had to do much more then replace timing belts...

Have the same rattling sound when the care is in neutral or park that everyone seems to be describing. Called the dealer to get a price to replace the flywheel, they are telling me that in there experience, this is not the flywheel but the clutch pack. They won't know until they tear it apart...

What would a 96 TDI sedan be worth from the perspective of a donor car? There is approx. 160,000 on the car, front end damage, new cylinder head at 150,000. I would like to put the motor/tranny into a 96-97 wagon rather than trying to repair the car. Any guestimates would be appreciated! Thanks
