Good news. Looks like the coolant overflow hose # 1K0122447ED is leaking near the t fitting connection. My in town fuel economy is horrible only 30 mpg. How can I improve that, would 2 1/2 year old oil be the problem? Tire pressure is good and I'm easy on the pedal. Filters were replaced 2500...
2006 volkwagen jetta tdi brm 1.9 dsg 146k
I noticed the other day my coolant reservoir was low maybe around 100 miles ago just checked again today and it dropped a little between min/max mark. I'm also getting a puff of white smoke on a cold start.
Injectors were swapped out about 2500 miles...

Can you easily change the parking pawl on a dsg when changing the flywheel should allow easier access? I'm planning to drive the jetta today and can report back.
The hotel where my 2006 jetta (dsg 146k) is parked moved the vehicle without key& w/parking brake engaged about 60-80 ft to accommodate for a event. I noticed after driving last night it rolls forward when in park more compared to previously. Was the park lock damaged? I'm planning to replace...
There is one other number inside there that I didn't record. So you're saying there really isn't a way to identify what car this transmission is from through the valve body M-Unit?
I pulled the cover on the M Unit and the part number for the valve body came up as 02E325025AL part # directly underneath that is P04R0136 and P04R0206
Any way I can look that up to find out if it is for a 2006 jetta tdi dsg?
Is there a part # for the M Unit? I noticed the transmission code is scratched off completely. Can a transmission rebuilder open up the transmission to determine what code and if it fits the brm like it was originally sold as a brm dsg transmission. I really would like to know, the transmission...
Oilhammer,
No cylinder head or engine needed, up and running with the new/used set of injectors and a used rocker arm assembly. Fresh oil and fuel filter, driving the car again couple hundred miles in... ;) I'm going to start running some LM Purge/Injector cleaner through it more often. So the...
Just ran into this problem on a 08 2.5 MKV Jetta. Will I need to replace all these parts or can I get away with only replacing the lock housing?

Update: So the TDI mechanic installed a used rocker arm and reinstalled the aluminum plugs and car started up ran rough and had a misfire on Cylinder #1. He came to conclusion the #1 injector is bad and then did a compression test with positive results (good compression) He wants to replace the...
Definitely have mechanics saying take the head off and rebuild others saying its fixable without removing head. Mixed opinions. Would rather do it one way correctly then have to do the job twice.
No the mechanic didn't damage anything this was a trustworthy 5 star rated VW Audi shop, they mostly work on gas models. The car is now at another shop and getting a further look into it before proceeding to fix or find out if head needs rebuilding. I wasn't aware of Franko6 offering a partial...
