Just Saying Hi
Well...glad to see the community is still doing well! It's been a LONG time since I've posted or even visited the group. Hope everyone is doing well!
Update: Bee (my '98 VW New Beetle) has been replaced by a '03 Passat B5.5 Wagon.....gasser! One rainy day I slid into the rear...
Ok so I've had brakes seized shut but I've never encountered where they're seized open! My rear brakes are both seized open and I've tried even setting the parking brake with no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Jerry
Well another huge THANK YOU to Fyrsail for helping me get Bee up and running! I was talking to him on the phone and mentioned that I was surprised the IP was dry, which he immeadiately knew what the problem was. I'll let him tell you what the part was that was causing the problem, as I can't...
yeah there's a slot there but the damn thing is so seized up I'm afraid of breaking off part of the bolt head! Real pain trying to find replacement bolts for the IP cover as well! If I remember correctly the start stop solenoid was what caused my no start issue the last time. I only had a...
Anyone out there with the special triangle socket to remove the bolt off of the top IP cover? Need to remove top cover in order to remove and test start stop solenoid on the IP. Hoping this is all that is wrong with it and avoid $400 IP!
Note to self: When going to Pick A Part remember to bring ratchet to go with sockets! DOH! But fortunately I had enough of the right tools to do the job! Thanks for Fyrsail introducing me to the joy of Pick A Part. Think I have a new weekend hobby!
Ok would appear my rear brakes aren't working as I've noticed rust on both rooters. Would this be a cable issue or more a master cylinder issue?
Also, if anyone is interested I'm going to be getting rid of the Jerry Rig II biodiesel processor. It's time to clean up the backyard and shed in...
Hey gang! This isn't a car question but seems like a lot of people now where to find odd ball kind of stuff. I'm looking for a place in town, Indy, or nearby to get a washing machine motor and a variable drive gearbox. The gear would look something like the one on the top of this cover...
Had the samething happen to my fuse box a year so back. Thanks to Fyrsail and the spare he had!
Hope everyone is doing well and I'll be trying to make a return to the forum. FYI my wood chip filter nearly caught on fire and burnt down my shed. But caught it during the smoldering stage and...
Unfortunately not as frequently as we should! We tend to get together on individual bases to help one another out. But I know must are willing to always meet fellow TDI enthusiasts.
LMAO!!! I'll take a picture of the "thing" tonight when I put in the new fuel temp sensor. HEY Still a BIG thanks to DCELL as well for coming and assisting!
Ok Frank (Fyrsail) came over and we took everything back apart and found that that the pump was filling with fuel after trying to prime it. At first Frank thought that I some how had let a washer come separated from the pump piston. HA! That wasn't it. Frank's keen sleuthing found it...
So here's a question, just before this incident I had been experiencing the tell tale symptoms of a bad fuel temp sensor. Bug would start fine when engine was cold but as engine got warmer starting became harder and harder. Could this issue be related to a failed fuel temp sensor?
