My (2) TDIs were bought back at the end of 2015. We initially went away from VW and bought a BMW and a Subaru. We're looking at SUVs again and the Atlas is on our radar.
As anyone been successful using your [bad] buy-back experience as a leg to stand on for new car price negotiations?
I'm on calendar day 79 or so since my documents were approved. There were a few e-mail addresses posted in the "2 month club" thread that I emailed last week in hopes for some feedback.
Today I got a phone call from VW regarding my claim. She said that she had gotten my claim moving along, go...
I'm just about tempted to go this route, I don't think I have anything to lose at this point. Green checks since 11/08.
I owe $1,200 on my car, I'm also considering just paying it off and hoping that speeds things up...
Useless TDI Phone People: "We are getting a lot of complaints that people have not heard an update in 10+ weeks"
TDI People Managers: "Send them an email to make sure their bank knows we exist, despite the fact that they uploaded a consent document. Then they cannot say we have not contacted...
I got the same crap today. Business day #46 and they have the nerve to put "If you would like to help make this process go faster" in the email. You're $)(!*$@ing right I want it to go faster VW!
I guess I'll go to the bank tomorrow and do their job for them then call to follow-up. Good gravy.
I have to check in periodically and make sure i'm not the only sucker stuck in the same spot.
I've got a headlight out, tires that were worn out in May, cracked windshield, A/C doesn't work and I am overdue for an oil change...get this car out of here!
Business day #45 and calendar day #70 (10 weeks) since my docs were approved. No offer.
I wish there was just about anything I could do to speed up this process.
I questioned getting my inspection done when it was due in October thinking the car would be gone soon. Docs approved on 11/08 and i still don't even have a buy-back date...get the inspection.
In hopes to not end up in EFT purgatory, I would highly recommend just putting it in the owners account and adjusting the funds later.
Do you really want to deal with VW again on this process? I sure wouldn't.
That could very well be what is happening. I only owe $1300 on my Jetta now, had I known having a loan would have been such a delay, I would have paid it off months ago! Now I'll be stuck with the swirl of where is the title, and it was setup for a loan payoff, etc if I try to pay it off now...
