DSG Dualmass Flywheel parts & labor in 2022?

I'm having some of the DMF symptoms earlier posters have described, and will soon be planning for the DMF replacement within the next month. Edit: I'm at 180K miles

    front parking light bulb removal

Fortunately, having smaller hands, I was able to pull out the bulb holder without too much trouble, and without using needle-nose pliers. I replaced the bulb and put the holder back in place rather easily.

    Q5 or Q7?

Interesting thread... I'm facing at a similar decision soon, with the Q5 / Q7 / TReg. I'm leaning towards the Q5 per a lot of what I've seen oilhammer and others post here and in other threads.

    good forum for the gassers?

Hmm... we've not previously looked at the Audi's, but those are good suggestions. The Q5 seems like a good option for what we're looking for, so I'll review that one.

    good forum for the gassers?

Ah, I was confused about the B6... I was thinking it was a more current platform. We want something 2016 or 2017 MY We may just look at one of the Subaru or Mazda options; we were leaning towards those anyway, but were impressed with how nice the Treg is once we actually looked at one.

    good forum for the gassers?

Geez... sounds like we should run, not walk, away from those. Sounds like an awful design. The B6 wagon is an interesting suggestion; we may look at those instead.

    good forum for the gassers?

Thanks. Are the VR6's just badly designed or unreliable? We're looking at a 2016 or 2017.

    good forum for the gassers?

We're looking at a Touareg, but we may end up going with a gasser as the TDI's seem to be few and far between in our area (Birmingham, AL). I've had my Jetta TDI for 13 years (I've been on this forum at least that long); so, I definitely appreciate the TDI... just not sure we'll have a lot of...

2016 Touareg Gas vs TDI questions

Good thread... looking at a 16 or 17 Treg now. Will probably get the gasser since the TDI is hard to find.

Need Help Replacing Air Recirculation Flap Motor

Good info here; thanks!. I've been having similar sounds from my Jetta on startup AND when in reverse (I guess the flap closes when reversing to keep out the diesel exhaust). I'll take to the local VW shop and see what they need to do.

    Intermittent key stuck in ignition

Finally repaired. Was without my vehicle for 9 business days... 8 of which were just waiting for the new lock and related parts to come in. Fortunately, I had easy access to another vehicle during that time.

    Intermittent key stuck in ignition

I had this experience this week. This past weekend, the key in ignition became difficult to turn. This morning the key would not turn past the accessory/wheel unlock position. Same thing with spare key, so it is definitely the lock and not the key. I ended up calling a tow truck to tow car to...

    Flashing rear defroster light?

Good info. I have an 11 month old battery, but it looks like I have a corrosion problem on the terminals; it is starting to affect cold starting power. I bet if I clean them off I'll do away with the flashing defrost problem.

    Flashing rear defroster light?

Bringing back an oldie... I'm having the rear defrost flashing indicator light issue. Rear defrost doesn't work; I also don't hear the relay click when pushing the rear defrost button now. Not a big issue now (due to current heat wave in Birmingham, AL area) , but I know I'll need the rear...

    2006 jetta headliner issues

I've been dealing with the sagging headliner problem for about 4 years now. It's mostly an issue around the rear dome light. The only low tech solution that works well is push pins. Cheesy, I know, but it works OK.

    Power sockets

06.5 uses fuse slot 48 9 years later... this post helped me out. It was right on with my 06.5 Special Edition Jetta. The cigarette lighter apparently uses the fuse in slot 48, not 24. It was a 20A fuse. Goofy me also had a penny I didn't notice in the ash try socket, so I burned out a 2nd fuse...

    Glow plug harness is toast!

I had the same issue this week. I went ahead and had the plugs replaced along with the harness. I'm told that that the new harness is composed of silicone instead of rubber, so the new harness should last longer.
