    Best OBDII gauge/scanner/VCDS

Barnyard: I coded my older scan gauge as you have for my 2014 passat tdi. The newer versions allow boost to replace map, at least in the literature. I also tried the fuel level for cansf vehicles to no avail. Anyone know if there's a way to code the fuel level? Also, I assume it's okay to...

    PD Torsion ??

PD Torsion? Thanks PD.... I changed it today. Got it to 0 on first try. Thought seriously about leaving it there, but I wanted to advance it a bit more, I finally got it to 1.5 on about the 6th try. It sure runs a lot better now. Will be checking mileage, but assume an improvement there...

    PD Torsion ??

Negative Torsion Value I'm a newbie. My vag-com shows -5.9KW for the torsion value with the engine temp at 84c. Isn't this extremely retarded?

    P2564 Turbocharger Problem?

P2564 code My Jetta 2004 TDI just showed the code yesterday. I was driving very slowly on a heavily potted road (1 - 3MPH). Difference was that my engine started missing badly. After I got on a good road and sped up, it started to clear some. I shut it off, reset the code with a scangauge...

What does it take to get 60+ MPG?

No fuel used when coasting in gear Timpackman The scan gauge will tell the story as it will show 9999MPG when rpm is above idle. Try this (one time) when traffic allows: set the cruise in 5th gear at about 40MPH and take your foot off the accelerator. When your engine reaches idling speed, it...

    60 MPG / 900 Mile Club / 1000 Mile Club

Bound and determined: First 1000 mile tank I started on reserve at 886 and just kept driving. When I got to 998, it was raining as I started to look for a fueling station. I stopped at a BP to find that they didn't carry it. Then went to another that I KNEW carried it and the station had...

    60 MPG / 900 Mile Club / 1000 Mile Club

Fix, I have filled 16.7 gallons without running out at a BP station. Probably lucky, but plan on letting it run out when I have a particularly good MPG going for the tank as I try to break 1000 miles. Hopefully next week. Another issue I have is that currently I use a meter bought at Orschelin...

800+ on a tank, whos with me.

Asterisk, All, Where can I find the rules for measuring and posting good mileage figures? Also anyone have a procedure for starting once fuel is depleted? (If I stop immediately on the first "missing", will it start on it's own once fuel is added to the tank?) I have a Jetta 2004 with manual...

    Mobil 1 505.00 ??

I can get Mobil 1 0W40 that specifies compliancy with 502 and 505.00. Anyone know if I can use this in my 2004 Jetta TDI? Book calls for 505.01. Is 505.00 good enough?

    Xylene vs Acetone for TDI?

No specific reason. Just looking to run cleaner and have better MPG.

    Shifting AT to neutral okay?

My purpose is to conserve fuel. I know it uses zero if left in gear, but on long or steep downhills, I can gain more speed than with even a little drag. Saturn used about .36GPH of gas. TDI uses about .1GPH. It's a balance, I guess, about how long the hill has to be for a TDI to get better...

    Xylene vs Acetone for TDI?

I've seen some posts on the use of acetone as a diesel fuel additive. Anyone with experiences or knowledge about using Xylene? I've heard it's used in a lot of gassers.

    Shifting AT to neutral okay?

Just bought at 2001 Jetta with autotrans. On my old Saturn, I often shifted the AT into neutral at highway speeds - probably 30 times or so on downhills while driving to work; it always slid smoothly back into 4th gear. Will I do any harm to the Jetta tranny doing that? Want to ensure proper...
