True rotational mass will make a difference, I cant find any data on the actual weight of the wheel from the 6MT standard to that on one with a DSG, I know the 6MT that the dealership had was running different wheels that those seen on the DSG.
Put simply, the mechanical differences that cause the difference in MPG from DSG -> 6MT may account for a very slight amount. If you are chasing after the very best mileage possible and are not concerned with shifting a lot in traffic, get the 6MT, if you commute through the city and dont mind...
Some of the reasons I read for the apparent loss of fuel economy going from the 6MT to DSG make sense ( I am an engineer so these sorts of problems my brain enjoys thinking about) I believe there to be some more parasitic loss in the DSG than the 6MT (more moving parts in the DSG), other parts...
