I didn't do anything to the Jetta, but I attempted to install the shocks on my '98 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. Man, if you ever think you can do this, I hope you have a lot of patience and the right tools. I started on the front right and it took me 7 hours to replace that one shock and a lot of help...
We had a Bio-Diesel plant here in Lewisburg but the nearest you could by it was in Cool Springs. I noticed last weekend that the building was empty. So, it's probably the same bunch looking for a place in Manchester or Tullahoma.
Well...I'm only about 50 miles due south of Nashville. I've read about the door lock problems and the bad soldering job from the factory. I just don't know if I want to keep this car. I'm sure the next thing to go wrong is the transmission since I have over 120,000 miles on it. It is an...
My skid plate got knocked loose for the 3rd time and this time I lost three retaining nuts. Went to a couple of car parts stores and couldn't find replacements. I reinforced the skid plate with a couple of pieces of sheet metal then rigged up one bolt and nut to hold it in the crossmember. Then...
I started using Rotella when I first bought my '02 Jetta but then switched to Mobil 1 for a little while. I have switched back to Rotella since then. It seems to run quieter and get better mileage on Rotella but uses some oil between oil changes. It seems to use about a quart within 5000 miles...
I tore off the stock skid plate...not on purpose....driving on a bumpy, gravel path. Now, I'm going to wire tie it back on for temporary use until I decide which metal skid plate I'm going to install. Which do you all recommend? The Panzer skid plate looks better than the Evolution skid plate.
I'm working in Vincennes this week and will probably be back for a couple more weeks if anybody needs to use my VAG-COM while I'm here. Long drive from the great state of TENNESSEE...........GO VOLS!!!!!
Nothing changed when I replaced my battery so I don't think you'll have any problems when you remove it to change the headlights. Are you replacing the whole headlight assembly or just the bulbs? If you're just changing the bulbs you can do that without removing the battery. Just move the clips...
Adam, I have a VAG-COM and will help you if you have any future problems. I'm in the Boro every now and then. I go to church there at the World Outreach Church. I'm new at the VAG-COM and we could learn a few things about it together. I know enough to fix a lot of problems, though. Plus, it...
I finally received broke down and bought a VAG-COM. I bought the HEX-CAN so I could use it on any future TDi I may buy. If anyone wants to give me any tips or come by and play I'd be more than happy....very happy with some tips. I have no clue what I'm doing presently, but hope to become very...
Sounds good to me. I was on my way up there last Memorial Day weekend. When I got to Nashville, my sunroof exploded! I don't know it someone dropped a rock from the overpass or a rock flew up from the road. Anyway, I got a police report and headed back to Lewisburg. Never made it to Churchill...
It's $3.239/gal here in Lewisburg, Tn.
SoKYTDi, we need to get some people together on here. I'm only 1 1/2 hour from you. I'll come by and pick you up one day and we'll go to Churchill downs....lol. I'll have the VAG-COM up and running by the end of the week.
You can probably bargin with them. I think the normal cost for a timing belt/water pump change will be around $800 and intake cleaning shouldn't cost more than $350. If the MAF is bad, you can change that yourself easily, but it's probably not bad. Search the posts in here for a DIY check.
