I have up for sale my 2003 NB TDI which I bought new.
It has 97,000 (mostly highway) miles on it. The belt has been changed at 70,000 by Southpoint VW of Baton Rouge, LA. The Beetle has been serviced by dealer ONLY with its most recent oil change at 90,000.
The engine purrs like a kitten...
Hi all. I'm having a problem with my 2003 Beetle. I suspect it's bad or gelled fuel because it started happening a week ago after filling up and it got cold.
What happens is it will start and run rough for a few seconds and then it will idle normally. There's a little bit of white smoke...
Hi all. I'm planning on moving up to Massachusetts in the next few months and I have some questions about the TDI in the wintertime. In January, the temp drops to below 0 so what can I do to not let the fuel turn into gel in the tank? Additives? Also the car doesn't have a block heater. Is...
I've just reached a trouble-free 15,000 miles on my NB TDI. Do I need to change my oil at 15000 or wait till 20?
If it's just an oil change, I'll get the Pela and the oil and do it myself. How often do I check the air/fuel filter? Thanks!
Beetles and Golf have 4 wheel disc brakes so it will stop the car and the trailer really easy.
My final question for towing is do you tow in overdrive(5th) or in 4th gear? I hear alot of people saying "never tow in overdrive" but that might be for automatics.
I'm thinking about like a small camper trailer for my NB like an Aliner. What's a safe axle/tongue weight to go with on a 2003 NB TDI?
The Aliner trailer comes in 3 different versions. The std which is 1000lbs axle/100lbs tongue. The Scout is 700lbs, and the Alite is 400. Which would be the...
I'll be parked in the campground at "Camp RRC". White NB with tinted windows.
I'll be in the park all day Sat and Sun. I'll be wearing a "Lake Winnie" or "Six Flags New Orleans" T-shirt.

If you are going to spend 18.99 per gal, Mobil Delvac One 5w40 is 20 dollars and some change And it does meet the CI-4 standard.

And you're right. I might as well get the "good stuff". This is my dream car afterall
OK thanks. I'll have to change my oil after my next coaster trip. So will I have to buy 2 gallons? Use one and take a pint out of the other one to make 4.5 quarts? Or is a gallon enough.
This is my first oil change and I want to do it right.
Thanks again.
I found at my local Napa auto parts a gallon of Valvoline 5w40 full synth CH-4 at $18.99/gallon. is this a good oil? The company I work for can get CAT parts so what would be the number for the oil fiter?
Thanks.
