Yeah, the LEAF is not for everyone. My wife drives it during the week. She goes 5 miles, parks, then 5 miles home. We don't charge it every night. More like every third night. Weekends we use it almost exclusively. We do have a 240V EVSE that we use for a quick charge. For us the LEAF is...
I'm turning in both cars today in a couple of hours. Feeling a bit anxious and sad. They have been great cars and have shuttled my family around with no issues. I will be glad when it is over, but I certainly have the feels.
Purchased a cpo 2015 Nissan Leaf for the wife to commute in and run around town on weekends. What a fun car! Her daily commute is only 11 miles round trip, so it fits us well. Super cool to be able to "fill the tank" in the garage overnight.
I've never really looked at Nissans before getting...
Has anyone researched/purchased a Chevy Malibu Hybrid? I'm finding 2016s with good discounts. I have not driven one but it looks decent. I would love a Volt but with three teenage kids I need more backseat space. Hoping the hybrid gets good city mpg as I no longer drive more than 10 miles a day.
Did you just haggle $6000 off or what?
Also, if I understand correctly, the $7500 is a tax credit. Correct? If so, it would reduce the amount of tax I owe much like a charity donation. Am I thinking correctly?
I like the Bolt and would love to drive one. It sounds great. I'm hoping that there are more and more electric vehicles over the next couple of years that we can get in Texas.
I'm really, REALLY looking at leasing a Volt. The problem? I have not driven one or even sat in one. The nearest dealer that has one is almost two hours away. I want one as it looks like the solution to my daily drive (less than 10 miles round trip). But without a test drive I just can't tell...
Well, the wheels are rolling! I received an email stating:

My wife loves her Jetta, so we will probably get a 2016 TSI or a slightly used one. We have had very good luck with our VW's. Her drive has dropped to 11 miles round trip, so a diesel is not needed anyway. I like the looks/specs of the 1.4 TSI for her as a commuter, but have not driven it yet. I...
Pfffft. I'm at 43,xxx miles (3,xxx miles over 40k service) and drive mine daily. It will be fine. Or it won't. I'm not putting any more money into it. Zero worries about engine failure.
2009 with 121,xxx miles needs timing belt, etc. 2013 with 41,xxx needs 40k service. Only putting 250 miles per week on them. No, I'm not doing any more services on them. Both will be brought back.
bigdogdan2, flee asked if you were kidding about spark plugs because diesel engines do not have spark plugs. This is a fairly common joke among diesel guys.
