Just out of interest how much smoke do you get at idle. Your setup is very similar to mine. I'm battling a smokey idle. Which I'm pretty sure is down to just having large nozzles

The pump has just come back from Bosch specialist for a service and test. So you would have to assume that it is within specification.
I experimented with SOI at idle range, to which there is no affect on fumes.

You could just clone your ECU and swap it over if needs be.
If you worried about spot checks. You could just cut your k line. So it can't be interrogated. You could theoretically unsolder the pin inside the ECU. Although some research would be needed to confirm that it won't impact other...
I already have the original MK4 Auto 11mm pump. Which from memory was the most desirable cam plate.
Turns out I actually got 0.320 fitted after checking my records.. So perhaps it's just the nozzle size not the nozzle quality.
I wish quality nozzles were cheaper, then it would be a no brainer...

Maybe consider that your injectors are leaking in someway. I'm not familiar with the platform, so not sure if this is possible.
But if the injectors are leaking you would perhaps see a loss in fueling which would mean less boost. And you would also see your oil thinning which would mean low...
