So sorry your experiencing this grief. Dealerships are a funny breed. Recently left a vw dealer myself as I didn't agree with their way of working.
It certainly sounds as though they didn't time the engine correctly and immediately started it and smashed the valves. I personally haven't seen any...
Thanks for your I for goodmonkey, very helpful.
I thought the gear selection was just a coding issue and have had a go at sorting it with the help of a friend with vcds who also is better at coding than me but the issue is I don't know what code I need to change?
I have the rns 315 radio installed. I'm not sure what it came from. This may well be the issue.
The SWCM is from a slightly early car, 2006.
Could this be an issue.
Tbh I have a bit of a mix of things going on.
Last year my speedometer back light died so I replace the speedometer with a...
Hi Don, thanks for your help!
Yes in sure it's a coding issue. I've been using Odis to do the coding as I work at vw but odis isn't great at coding the older vehicle anymore as we rarely see them now.
I think I need to borrow vcds and have another go at coding through that.
I have a wiper on...
Hi everyone,
I have just bought a donor mk5 as I need the gearbox for our other mk5.
I have however also fitted the multifunction steering wheel, steering wheel control module and airbag from the donor car into my 2008 mk5.
After fitting I carried out the basic settings of the G85, g200 and...
Hi guys, my car has now passed the 1/4 million mile mark, with it still on its original springs and front shocks.
I'm thinking of fitting mk6 gtd springs front and rear with new front shocks to stiffen things up a bit and a slightly lower ride.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks in advance ?
I’m currently at 246,000 miles on my original dpf, although I did clean it using a jet washer at 190,000 as my ash load was getting a little high. Never had any trouble with it though. I try to let it complete it’s regenerations as much as I can but otherwise just let it do it thing.
Regular...
Ok, so i have swapped a highland instrument cluster into my golf, coded the keys and coded it into the car using ODIS, by sheer chance the mileage on the new cluster was only 300 miles out from my cars true mileage so ill leave that alone.
My trouble is i no longer have PRNDS ( gear selection )...
I don’t have a 2014 but i have a 2008 with the 02E dsg transmission and almost on 250,000 now. It’s a fantastic gearbox! Because I get the oil free I change it every 20,000 or so.
Most I saw was 620,000 on a Passat dsg.
Regular maintenance and treat it right
Hi everyone! I have a 2008 golf estate tdi dsg. One of the LED’s has failed in the
Tachometer in the instrument cluster. They are the midline clocks at the moment but thinking of upgrading to the high line clocks with the bigger centre screen.
Coding the keys to it isn’t a problem as i can do...
The clutch packs wear out and drag preventing the clutches from fully clearing allowing the gears to be engaged correctly. Just the same as a worn pressure plate on a manual gearbox. When was the last time the dsg oil and filter was changed? It’s worth changing the oil and filter first and do a...
Sounds like you could have a blocked exhaust and it’s trying to vent through the crankcase breather. Seen it before. Remove the exhaust then start it before condemning the engine
