    CP3 fuel pump upgrade thread

adrian537; Yes you are right, i am very lucky (blessed) to be getting all this work done on my car. Then I should have a warranty on this work and the parts. Seems like VW would save money if they would adopt the CP3 pump as a replacement. I really think these problems on the DPF and...

    CP3 fuel pump upgrade thread

My car only had about 90,000 miles on it when the Check engine light came on, i tried to figure it out but to no avail, I did not think it was the HPFP because every failure i have read about, was an immediate failure and the CEL came on at the time of failure. At around 91,000 is when i got it...

    CR engine HPFP analysis

Up date from my last post. I still advice every one that has a warranty on there VW that if they do not have the "Fuel Guard Kit" installed on there car, to get one and install it your self. That is the reason that VW used to deny the warranty on my car. Okay for the update and this is...

As I’ve been researching on here it looks like Mobil1 ESP 5-30w is the best oil choice for it. Any filter preference, I haven’t seen much on those or just haven’t looked at the correct threads yet. Any tips or suggestions is appreciated. I would use the VW filter and VW recommends a special...

    CR engine HPFP analysis

I was not so worried about my HPFP either as I got the modification on my car at 75,000 and the VW web site said i had an extended warranty to 129,000. My check engine light came on and i was not able to get it to stay off myself and so took my TDI to the dealer. The service Advisor told me...

    CP3 fuel pump upgrade thread

Cp3 hpfp For some of us, we are having no luck locating a new CP3 pump or a used one with retrofit kit what so ever. I live in eastern Washington state and have not been able to locate a place to buy one any place. Thanks for letting us know about how to cure the rumble.

I am no expert but I would check further for a fuel delivery problem. Does this have more than one fuel filter? Does it have more than one fuel pump? Be sure to never let your car get below a quarter tank.

97 Jetta TDI Just my opinion, but i think that is a really good year, I had a 97 Passat and a so called trusted TDI mechanic destroyed it, he took the engine completely apart because i had a lifter knocking. I think these cars are better than many of the newer VW diesels.

New hpfp and p0088 high rail pressure

Rail Control Solenoid? I am also trying to figure out how to remove this sensor/solenoid. I believe this is what VW calls the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Looks like the rail will have to be removed to remove the sensor.
