adrian537; Yes you are right, i am very lucky (blessed) to be getting all this work done on my car. Then I should have a warranty on this work and the parts.
Seems like VW would save money if they would adopt the CP3 pump as a replacement.
I really think these problems on the DPF and...
My car only had about 90,000 miles on it when the Check engine light came on, i tried to figure it out but to no avail, I did not think it was the HPFP because every failure i have read about, was an immediate failure and the CEL came on at the time of failure. At around 91,000 is when i got it...

For me personally my car in in the dealers shop now getting the complete...
Up date from my last post. I still advice every one that has a warranty on there VW that if they do not have the "Fuel Guard Kit" installed on there car, to get one and install it your self. That is the reason that VW used to deny the warranty on my car.
Okay for the update and this is...
Did you try Rufre in Spain? Andrew referred me there about a year ago. I think it was a couple of weeks from initial enquiry until they had stock in.

I went to the Rufre web site but hard for me to figure out if they have the correct CP3 pump for a VW...

As I’ve been researching on here it looks like Mobil1 ESP 5-30w is the best oil choice for it. Any filter preference, I haven’t seen much on those or just haven’t looked at the correct threads yet.
Any tips or suggestions is appreciated.
I would use the VW filter and VW recommends a special...
I was not so worried about my HPFP either as I got the modification on my car at 75,000 and the VW web site said i had an extended warranty to 129,000. My check engine light came on and i was not able to get it to stay off myself and so took my TDI to the dealer. The service Advisor told me...
Cp3 hpfp
For some of us, we are having no luck locating a new CP3 pump or a used one with retrofit kit what so ever. I live in eastern Washington state and have not been able to locate a place to buy one any place.
Thanks for letting us know about how to cure the rumble.
I am no expert but I would check further for a fuel delivery problem. Does this have more than one fuel filter? Does it have more than one fuel pump? Be sure to never let your car get below a quarter tank.
97 Jetta TDI
Just my opinion, but i think that is a really good year, I had a 97 Passat and a so called trusted TDI mechanic destroyed it, he took the engine completely apart because i had a lifter knocking. I think these cars are better than many of the newer VW diesels.
Cp3 hpfp
I have read this entire thread but still not sure where to get a CP3 HPFP.
I find these pumps online but I can't figure out how to tell if they are the CP3 or the older CP4.
Here is one...
Rail Control Solenoid?
I am also trying to figure out how to remove this sensor/solenoid. I believe this is what VW calls the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Looks like the rail will have to be removed to remove the sensor.
Newbie here
Been reading on the TDI Club for a few hours and can't understand all of it because of abbreviations. I have searched for info on the abbreviations but didn't find it yet. Here are some abbreviations that i am completely unclear what they mean: EGR, GTG, MAF, CCV and there are...
