    Another ALH non-start

FWIW, I fashioned a crank holding tool from a piece of Auto trans ring gear when I did my 5spd swap. It took a little fudging around, but I got it to fit tight in the sight hole and hold the flywheel at TDC. The crank will not budge, it removes one source of possible error.

    Adapter plate design considerations

I've seen adjustable dowel pins on Summit's website. I don't know if they have the size you are looking for, google "adjustable 10mm dowel pin. I think they are two piece, inner and outer. With the inner being concentric ground and threaded with a lock screw.

    Heater core delete.

I would definitely put 16lbs to the core before investing in hoses. Since the cooler is there, all stock part numbers will apply.

    Heater core delete.

If it's anything like mine, it's deleted because it leaks. However, you can go on Idparts website and find everything you need and the part numbers. Has the EGR cooler been deleted? That would make a difference what hoses are used.

A few other shots. Historic Charlottesville, the tunnel on Skyline drive, a tractor with single and wide drives. I don't think I've ever noticed that before, at least not on anything I ever worked on.

It was a blast. Three close encounters with deer along the way, but fortunately no calamity, and as usual not enough time.
