    For those with Malone Tune

I have the 1.5 tune with DPF intact. I had it tuned with less than 8k on the clock, and i'm closing in on 70k now. No issues at all! Love the extra grunt in the lower end and the improved throttle response.

    Rattle noise in the headliner

I have the same thing, it's just behind my head, somewhere near the B-pillar. It stops when I push on it with my hand, but it's really annoying. Anyone figure out what it is (besides rodent infestations)?

    Portable air compressor

I have this unit as well. Have had no problems with blowing fuses or anything. Great little compressor, works fairly quickly and is not too noisy. You probably want to have another air gauge, the one on the unit isn't too accurate, but the on/off switch on-unit is a great thing.

How long did your battery last?

Mine died after 2.5 years/53k miles. Didn't think I was too harsh on it, but apparently it gave up the ghost last month. Checked the water levels and it seem okay. Just bought another factory battery since it was cheaper than going anywhere else (plus they had it in stock) Maybe i got a weak...

    Computer auto-reset?

It also resets @ 100 hrs of driving time. Found that out during a long road trip. Not as annoying as a full hard reset.

    Computer auto-reset?

Has anyone else seen this? I parked the car for a few minutes while I ran an errand last night, and when I returned, the entire MFD computer had reset itself. Trip mileage was 0.0. Clock read 12:00. Very very strange. Car seems to be running normal, but I can't tell what happened. Hopefully it...

    CJAA engine oil capacity

I just took mine in for 10K maintenance and asked for the remainder of the liter/quart bottle. They looked at me funny and said no. The service writer replied they needed to save it for the next service, even though the invoice said 5 units of oil. Something's fishy... But at least they used...

    Who's here

Got here this afternoon. Took the long way through deal's gap (best detour ever). 10 hrs and 620 miles later, I made it. Gittyup, glad to meet you in the elevator. Cute pups

    Anyone else have alignment issues?

Same situation here as well. Took it back to the dealer to get it aligned. Thankfully/fortunately, they didn't give me any problems about putting it on the machine. The steering is spot on, but it pulls a touch to the right. I figure I got lucky once with the dealer, no need to push them harder...

    Firewall Access for EGT Gauge

I can't comment on anything about the gauges, but there's a rubber grommet just above the clutch pedal that goes through to the area just behind the battery/fuse-box. If you're looking at it from the engine bay, it's to the right of the brake master cylinder and has a few rubber points sticking...

    Rear License Plate

wondering the same thing, even though I've had the car for a few months now. The screws that the dealer put in are too long and end up touching the paint. I had to put washers and a license plate frame to make up for the long screw length. Probably not the most elegant solution either, not to...

Repost bu this is a MUST mod for a Jetta or Golf MKVI

I installed the BFI bar a few weeks ago. Great product at a decent price. Made such a huge difference. I installed it on the stiffest setting, and going around turns, I can feel the rear end pushing out. Even managed a small drift when lifting off in a sharp turn :) I can't say how it compares...

    New TDI! new owner introduction

I don't think any more than any other TDI. The oil pan is the lowest thing in the engine bay (doesn't make any sense). If you hit anything hard enough where it doesn't quite deflect off the plastic acoustical pan down below, it's going to hit whatever's next in line. Unfortunately, on the...

    New TDI! new owner introduction

Awesome looking car! Welcome to the club. I'd suggest making a skid plate of some kinda high up on the list. Saved me from a new oil pan already, only 5k miles so far too. And the diesel geek sigma 6 short shifter kit. Best money i've spend so far (skid plate + shifter). Keep driving! Like u...

How do you all keep the dash cool in the summer sun?

I have to agree that the AC is amazing. I find myself turning it down since it becomes more of an ice box than comfortable. Never had that problem in my honda... :p
