If you are considering buyback which cars are you looking at as replacements?

Yea, they are insane!! They may on a fullsize, but not the Canyons. Folks are still lining up to buy them at MSRP. While I did not pay that, there was no where near 5K off either.

If you thought the Canyons were bad, you should see full size truck prices.

If you are considering buyback which cars are you looking at as replacements?

I picked up my replacement Thursday 12/29. Turned in my VW on the 28th. Here are some pictures. I went with the GMC Canyon SLT. Not too bad for MPG from a gas v6.

    Passat Replacement based cabin size?

I have been looking at Buicks. The Regal and Lacrosse are both very close to all the interior dimensions of the Passat and in some exceed the Passat. The Regal is the closest to Passat size with the Lacrosse being a little bigger than the Passat. If you have not check out the 2017 Lacrosse as...

    95 Ah Battery

The regular battery minder 2012 would work for flooded cells. I am about to get one for my lawnmower.

    95 Ah Battery

If you have an AGM battery I suggest getting a Battery Minder 2012-AGM charger. I purchased one two years ago since I do not drive my corvette as much anymore. The battery in my corvette is an Optima Red from 2006 and its still going strong. The biggest issue I see with people using AGM...

    Efficiency and Longevity: Remove DPF

You may run into other issues with running bio. From reading, VW does not approve of 100% bio use. It apparently dilutes the oil and causes issues with the internals. I believe even bio produces PM, which is the main reason for the DPF. It is just the nature of a heavy distillate fuel to...

Where does everyone buy their engine/tranny oil and various filters?

I normally use Rockauto or Amazon. It just depends on the price and shipping cost.

Volkswagen's Clean Air Act violations on 2009+ TDIs spark huge recall, investigations

I am not sure if anyone has the tables, but the change in Passat's complying with the regulations has to do with EPA tier changes. In 2014 the EPA adopted Tier 3 emissions, and I am guessing at that point the Passat SCR system could no longer meet the standards. I am wondering if for all the...

    Significant mpg differences

Do you use any drive thru retailers? How is traffic? Traffic, drive thru and frequent short trips will all impact the fuel economy. I track all my fill ups on fuel and use my average speed to help me better estimate my conditions. Weather also makes an impact, but for me it is hard to track...

70K break job - replacing the rotors ?

I will be another vote for the Centric high carbon rotors. I run them on everything I do brake jobs on. I am not fond of the the fancy slotted or drilled rotors. I have seen almost every drilled rotor crack around the drill holes. When I road race my corvettes I just use the high carbon...
