That sucks, what is wrong with people?! Seriously, post this on the customobsessions.com forum as well; a lot of local VW people hang out on there. The VW / Audi subforum fairly active (moreso than our Atlantic subforum here these days).

Hmm, it's not stamped with where it's made anywhere, but there's a VW logo, "7PLCN" and what I'm assuming is the part number - 100941531A. I had it in my Jetta for 5 or 6 years and it always worked great. I took it out and put the stock switch back in before I sold the car.

Euroswitch - $20 Coolant temp. sensor - $35 Bought the coolant temp. sensor from Hillcrest when I was having starting issues a year ago before the starter went and was replaced, never bothered to install it. I paid $40 for it at the dealership.
