Very well could be the case, I just have no idea. I went ahead and ordered the one from VW. I have an Xray unit at work so may take my old one and new one and run them through to see if I can tell.
Thanks STDOUBT, I think I will....pretty sure I bought a genuine passenger side mount when I recently did the timing belt. So probably will just go that route. It IS a good deal for Genuine.
Ok, well perhaps if I posed the question another way.
Is it worth buying the trans mount still from VW vs buying say Lemforder, Febi, Corteco given the fact manufacturing locations have apparently changed.
Anybody have recent experience with Hutchison?
I need to order the 1J0199555AJ manual transmission mount for my 2000 jetta. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should go for the Genuine mount. I did some research, but could not find a definitive answer on whether or not, in 2024, the Genuine mount is fluid filled. I'm under the...
Thanks for the boot info. The VW ones do seem robust. I had planned to use GKN boots but even though I've read they are the axle supplier, maybe vw gets a better built boot than GKN aftermarket spec.
What do you think of the amount of play in the video? No big deal? I had it leaning on stack of...
Last weekend I removed the cv joints on both axles from my 2000 jetta. I have not stripped them down to component level I have to research how to do that still. Theres no detectable play except for one area on the outer joints and I have no experience to know if its normal. I took a 5 second...
I looked over vx tuning and midwest websites for lights. Seem very good. I honestly may be just interested in the Ecodes vandermic07 just posted he got. One thing I noticed is VX website mentions including "leveling motors" and Midwest does not. Completely new to lighting on these cars. I'm...
Thanks for all the responses, I actually did everything mentioned here on install, including upper roller last etc. so pretty sure i was already using all the known tips tricks and cheats. I guess my timing belt may have just been a super PITA for me at least, but maybe just normal for the job...
This might be long post. I've been meaning to ask about this ever since I did the timing belt job late last year, and I now find myself possibly having to remove the injection pump and I am dreading that because I really don't want to mess with the timing belt again until its due! I'm pretty nit...
thanks for all the replies. I forgot to mention. IP is still locked with pin, and cam lock is still installed. Sounds like I should just loosen IP sprocket bolts, cam bolt, untension belt and then install roller to be safe
I'm getting my timing belt job slowly back together. Belts on everything is torqued to spec. Was about ready to put the tin belt covers back on and realized I forgot to install the top timing belt roller. The one between the IP pulley and cam pulley. I tried to put it on but with the force...
