Okay, I wasn't having much luck just trying to find the correct rfid chip or seeing if it was a replaceable item.

Mine sounds just like that. I had to replace the crank seal, along with timing belt, non variable water pump, and pulleys, so I never got to hear it run much before to know the difference. (Insurance auction car)

I found the mounting spot. Directly under the metal bumper more toward the driver's side. There's a tab where it slips (clips) onto.
