Plastic exposed to sun (UV) can leech BPA but since your not drinking the oil it shouldn't make any difference. Oil, doesn't matter what oil, is a hydrocarbon. For instance Gasoline needs stabilizers in order to prevent it from turning into goo and gunking up in the gas tank.

That is 5 years in storage and the 5 years is also listed on the website I posted but that should be a maximum. Of course it is best to use it asap but one may never get that opportunity.
Let us assume that the oil can last 5 years on the shelf. So does this mean that ATF/MTF/Differential fluid...
You plan to change the oil often within the year? That's about 9.5 oil changes worth in 11 gallons assuming 4.6 quarts per change.
