    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

I thought the RNS-510 was the radio that came with Nav? Mine is non-nav. Is there firmware available for it? I can't even determine what the model number is (it's not listed on the window sticker).

    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

Success!!! Yes, the magical solution has been found! It involves a rubber chicken, latex gloves, a tamborine.... oh wait. That's what I was going to try on the bluetooth issue. Here's what I did: 1. Formatted the SD card (again) 2. Created two folders on the SD card 3. Copied ~400...

    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

Not sure if there are any firmware updates to the "non-nav" radio or not. I may be taking it to the dealer anyway, because the bluetooth will randomly fail to power up when I start the car. It's not that it won't connect, the LED never even comes on to indicate it's even trying to. Very annoying!

    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

Just an update: I tried reformatting the card again (making sure it was FAT32), dumped all files in the root and renamed them "song.mp3", "song(1).mp3", etc (standard Windows bulk renaming convention). No joy, it still only shows 512 files! Next step: Creating enough folders so I can put fewer...

    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

Yep, permanent shuffle play. :) FAT32 was the format option chosen. Thanks for the tips! I do have some long file names on there, I'll shorten them and see what happens. I just wonder what the dealer would say if I took it in and told them it doesn't work?

    SD card madness! (2010 JSW)

Okay, I've searched the forums and read my owners manual... and I'm baffled. My 2010 JSW refuses to see more than 512 songs on the SD card! It's a 4GB SDHD. From what I've read, it should see up to 512 folders, with up to 2048 files per folder, right? I've tried: Formatting the SD card...

How NOT to accessorize your VW...

Here in Austin we have a maid service called "More Hands" and their fleet of NBs have giant "hands" on the roof. They are quite...err.... distinctive. :)

    New Sportwagen owner

I made the decision based purely on aesthetics. IMO the Sportwagen looks a lot nicer than the "chopped off" look of the Golf. Yes, I realize that's probably very shallow of me just buying on looks. ;)

After the replacement, they washed all the wheels so I could get a fresh start on the brake dust. It does seem like the rears are picking up more dust than the fronts, but then again that's with new pads. I'd say if both rears are evenly coated (side-to-side) you're probably OK. Mine was...

    New Sportwagen owner

Thanks guys! The dealer replaced the rotor and pads on the right, and also put new pads on the left so they were both new side-to-side. It wasn't the park brake, they checked that first. They were very puzzled by the entire thing and even opened a ticket with VW and were going to send the old...

    New Sportwagen owner

Hello all, Just a quick intro. My name is Chris, and I just bought my first VW and first diesel! It's a 2010 Sportwagen, manual transmission. It has no options other than the 'mud flaps' and rubber mats. It's Candy White, with the Titan Black interior. I wish I could say it's been a perfect...

possible to disable TOOT when I hit the alarm?

The car is smart enough to recognize which remote opened it, so you have to enable (or disable) ATA Confirm after unlocking the car with the remote you wish to have it enabled (or disabled) for. At least mine works that way!
