Anyone need 4 cheap tires??? P205/55r16
I have 4 YOKAHAMA AVID Envigor tires. The tires off of the front have 4/32nd(30%-40%) tread left and the tires off of the back had a ton of tread left 8/32nds(70%-80%) left. I neglected to rotate the tires properly so the rear tires are somewhat...
I just did mine when I did the struts and wheel bearing earlier this year. It really takes two people to be able to identify inner or outer. One to move the wheel and the other to look for which part is moving. I just did a wheel bearing on a 2002 Silohoutte that had a small amount of play at...
Reddog- I agree with DCELL. Raise the vehicle up and grab the tire at 9 and 3 and see if there is any play. Normally with your hands in this position you would find a tie rod issue. Move you hands to 12 and six and check for play that way too. This would typically identify a balljoint issue...
Vegbug~
I am beginning to wander if the "whomp, whomp, whomp" noise is in your head. I think you have had the noise for over a year now...LOL;
Glad you made some progress on the bug.

Yeah I am pretty sure the no start issue will be cured with 109 relay I already bought for it. Like I said in the OP I was gonna wait until it acted up again to try the new relay.
Anyone know if the cutting out or glowplug light flashing could also be the 109 relay? Could the brake switch...
Changed the fuel filter with my last oil change. The problems occured before and after the filter change.
BTW it isn't a hard start issue. When the glow plug light does not come on it will not start at all. What happens it I get in the car and when I try to start it and the crank is...
Hey guys I have a 2000 Jetta that developed a couple of intermittent problems over the last 2 months. They could be related but may not be.
The first issue it that while driving it will cut out for split second but not actually die. I am usually going at least 50mph and I think I have always...
Vegbug- If you need a hand with the wheel bearing or Timing Belt let me know. I have done both to my car in the past 3 months and neither one was too bad. Send me PM and I can give you my number and then we can get'r done.
Sorry Vegbug but it is your thread, therefore you schedule the events for us to come to and then you bail at the last minute. :)
I haven't seen anyone selling a hitch for a NB but I will keep my eyes open. If you can't find one maybe a luggage rack would be better.
I'm up for a GTG just...
Matt,
I am independant damage appraiser and work for several insurance companies. Each one uses a different system to calculate the Actual Cash Value of a vehicle. CCC and Autosource are two great resources they use as long as the person running the report understands the value that "TDI"...
The gap is normal. Even with brand new struts and mounts there is a gap between the mount and strut tower. I just replaced my struts, mounts, and various other suspension components and couldn't be happier with the ride.
The squeak could be just about anything. If you can recreate the noise...
The first hose I used collapsed also. It made a buzzing noise after I shut off the car. The hose with molded 90 angle doesn't kink at all. I plan to put a spring inside it so it doesn't collapse with age or I may just have to got to the dealer and get the correct part lol.
Joe
I had pretty much the same issue and found the hard hose in between the vacuum pump and check valve in the brake booster was cracked badly. The OE hose is forty five dollars and probably not in stock.
I just bought a 1/2 inch hose from the parts store with a 90 degree angle made in it. Most...
Why kind of mileage is on the serp belt tensioner. The bearing on mine is a little noisey. I may be in Indy later this week and could stop by and pick it up.

Removing the housing makes pressing the seal out a breeze. It installed great with zero issues and with zero cost for the install tool. I find it crazy to spend a ton of money on a seal remover or even the $12.00 for the installer when you can spend 10 minutes of your time to remove the...
I appreciate everyone's willingness to help. By removing the pully there is no way to get it wrong. Car is up and running with no issues.
Thanks again,
Joe
I always like it when a thread has an end result to it so here I go. I got the 038 103 085 E and it installed beautifully. I massaged the inner teflon and it made all the difference on installation. On another note an inner wheel bearing race, large washer, and the old crank bolt made for an...
The dealer sold me a 038 103 085 E and it is a teflon seal. He looked it up with and without my vin. According to the parts diagram it appeared that he chose the right one.
Could this be the seal?
