    im not the OP, but... flange type is the t25 flange with circle port, a few vendors here stock the manifold AR is .61 it needs to be reclocked, on an ALH at least water in/outlets are 90 degrees from the oil drain oil in/outlets are both in the same position next to each other

    clocking a vnt

    there are a certain number of clocking positions you can choose, but if none are angled as desired, you would have to tap new holes on the housing or you could just build your turbo manifold so that it allows the turbo itself to be in the position it is already in

    Vane quantity effect

    assuming you are using the same turbine wheel, I believe in theory that it is due to turbulence since less vanes should have more of a gap between them causing more turbulence and I believe that less vanes means that the vanes themselves need to be longer which would also imply that the housing...

    if he has the oil fitting, he can look at the restrictor and im not entirely sure but i think all ball bearing garrett turbo's are watercooled, so you can check for that (the opposite is not true) or he can try blowing on it and see how much force it takes, if it spins sooner, or stops later...

    youd be hard pressed to find any vnt turbo used for under 500 for a working turbo that is an upgrade to what you have now

    it's from a '05+ porsche 911 oe# 99712301472 manuf# 53049700060 and also from the audi v6 tdi and land rovers http://www.turbomaster.info/eng/catalogs/model.php?base=3k&pagina=BV50 but i think i read somewhere the ones on the porsche are more heat resistant...
