Sounds like you need a 1st gen Cummins. They are totally mechanical, no electronics to foul up during the EMP from a nuclear warhead, extemely reliable & will get you 20 + mpg. I'm currently driving one now & consistantly get 22 mpg on the hwy.

I GOOGLEd Baron Volkswagen & found that Baron VW closed on 8/31/08 to focus on their BMW & Mini dealerships according to the Kansas City Business Journal. I reckon I'll end up calling all 3 dealerships & see who'll give me the best price.
