FS 2005 Passat Wagon TDI - 198K - Bad Trans

Hey y'all. I know some of you have written me. I've been currently waiting to hear on an estimate to replace the transmission. I thought I'd hear what it was two days ago but there's no word still. As soon as I hear I will be in touch. Thanks

Yeah I read the rules and while it recommends setting a price, it doesn't say it's required. You're currently the highest bidder!

OBO meaning "or best offer". I should have written "Best Offer". :)

FS 2005 Passat Wagon TDI - 198K - Bad Trans

Listed is a 2005 VW Passat Wagon TDI. The 01M transmission finally gave out at 198K, so alas I am selling it unless someone would be up for working on. It has always been maintained really well and is in excellent condition for it's age. There are a couple of spots that are just starting to...

West Michigan Fall TDI GTG - October 27, 2018

Thank you to Kirk and Linda for hosting! Had a great time, it was cool to see the brand new ALH and Tesla model 3, and also thank you for selling me the wheel/tire. Food was great! Thank you also to Jeff (Mr. Rocketship) for coming all the way to do the tunes, although I decided to wait until...

West Michigan Fall TDI GTG - October 27, 2018

In addition, I am in need of an extra key to my '02 Jetta wagon, so I'm hoping that I can fit in getting a tune to my '14 JSW and then go back to get the good ole' ALH back up before the key programmer leaves. I have a blank key that needs to be cut and a FOB that needs programming. Also...

West Michigan Fall TDI GTG - October 27, 2018

According to Vag-com, the diesel particulate filter in my 14' JSW needs to be replaced, and note that the fans stay on long after the car has been running. Now, the car is a CPO car so I could take it to the dealer, but at the same time, I despise dealers and avoid them as much as possible...

West Michigan Fall TDI GTG - October 27, 2018

Hey Kirk, long time no see. Hope all is well and thank you for all that you do for the TDI community. Finally, after 8 years of going to school on and off while working full-time, I will have time to come to your GTG! Please put me down for a tune to my '14 JSW, which I recently bought. I will...

2.0 Gen 1 post fix impressions, issues, etc.

Thanks for bringing that up! Check the link below that shows the emissions warranty info. The one I got has 67K miles on it, so the original warranty is no more. https://www.vwdiesellookup.com/pdf/VWCourtSettlement_Emissions_Disclosure_Gen1_Manual_Final.pdf I'm actually in the process of...

2.0 Gen 1 post fix impressions, issues, etc.

I just bought one of the Gen1 buybacks this weekend, and it's a '14 JSW manual. I'd never driven one of the newer ones previously, but after the fix, and I know it at least still has more power than my ALH Wagon with RC2!

To buy or not to buy?

I have the chance to buy an '06 BRM Jetta with 207K. I don't know when the TB was replaced, there is a rubbing noise in the engine somewhere at idle, and brakes may have some issues too. I have pasted the results of my Vag-com scan below. Someone please tell me if the results show any major...

How to find out if timing belt has been replaced?

I am trying to find out if the timing belt has been replaced on a BRM 2006 Jetta TDI that I am looking at. I know that the VCDS timing checker doesn't work on the PD and newer motors, but does anyone know of a good alternative way to find out? Thanks

    Feeler for this summer's Mid-Michigan GTG - July 27th

Marty and Sandy, thank you very much for the all the GTGs. I had a blast at the final two. Bruce and Eric, the help with the skidplate, Frostheater, and advice was invaluable. Thank you so much as well. I'm sorry that the end has to come, but hopefully Kirk and Whitbread can keep the events...

    Feeler for this summer's Mid-Michigan GTG - July 27th

I am hoping to install a Panzer plate and a FrostHeater. Would anyone be up for helping me? I have no clue how to install these, but am pretty hands-on. Also, does anyone have a Panzer plate that fits a Mk4 Jetta that they would sell because they don't need anymore? Thought I'd throw it...

    TDI Overboost Brake Booster Issue

Overboost Issue with Brake Booster affected Hi all, I have an '02 Jetta TDI ALH with an overboost issue. When I take off the line running from the N75 to the turbo with the check valve in between, my car boosts great, but my brakes seem soft, so I guess that the brake booster doesn't get air...

    Feeler for this summer's Mid-Michigan GTG - July 27th

I appreciate the advice. I did know that it's possible to do this with VDS Pro, but I don't have a laptop or cable with a serial port, and I hear you want to be VERY careful when using that program. However, if somebody attending the GTG is familiar with VDS Pro, maybe they could help me.

    Feeler for this summer's Mid-Michigan GTG - July 27th

For anyone with a MKIV, I can program your power windows to go up and down with your remote fob. It will also close the sunroof if it is open. I am willing to help anyone that would like this done at the GTG. Does anyone know how to sync their back hatch with their locks so it doesn't lock...
