It's on Ebay, I lack the patience to drag out the process.

OEM ALH/TDI 5th gear and tools. Gear set came out with no damage, a little heat and a properly modified puller did the trick! $150 for just the gear, $185 for everything. T60 socket also included, but not pictured.

Anyone interested in buying the specialized tools you need to do the job as a kit? I just completed the 0.681 swap this afternoon and can't see using many of the tools I used again. I have a three arm already custom ground 3" gear puller from northern tool, the T60 socket, 17mm allen wrench and...
Ok, you refer to "manually venting", I assume that refers to pushing the little flapper valve in the filler neck that we bastardize with the ventectomy procedure? Because without pushing it, I could not fit in nearly as much as I can now.
806.9 miles, 16.23 gallons. I noticed one person mentioned that a ventectomy does not change how much one can fit in. I beg the differ. I always fill to the point where the "water line" is within 1/2" of the gas cap. I was never able to get more than 15 gallons in before venting.
Considering that the leading edge of my rear tires sticks out beyond the body work towards the bottom of the door, as do the front tires towards the bottom 4" or so of bodywork, I smell opportunity.
I replaced the air filter and did an oil change last weekend. Immediately I could tell the mileage was better (went unusually far on 1/2 tank). After filling up my guess is I picked up around 4mpg.
Skirts... Too far out for me. I have been considering some small wheel well flares, just to get the leading edge of the tires out of the laminar layer.
What the heck, I'm back in tdi land after a 8 year break, and I'll throw this out there:
1/4 tank (gauge) left, 580 miles so far. Signature for car/mods. I've already done 700 on a fillup, how far do you think I'll make it?
I wrote a long winded well thought out reply and my browser crashed, so here's the short version:
I based my install on the Mitsu EVO, not the angles Vortekz recommends. Something tells me Mitsu had more engineering in theirs. Self painted, wouldn't have tried it if I had anything but a white...

Vortex generators take 2. I mounted them a little higher to get them into the laminar flow layer.

I stayed clear of the antenae as that probably already disrupts the flow. I have a...
Here's one recipe...
