Thanks for everyone's input.
Pulling wiring diagram fuses 111 & 144, which cross reference to relay panel table list as uses F & G, disable the alarm with no negative affects (everything else still works)
I have a document on how to do this, but I'm not allowed to post (because I'm a newbie to...
This worked for me
This worked for me with no negative side effects.
Note that fuses 111 & 144 from the wiring diagram cross reference to fuses F & G in the fuse table.
I have pictorial instructions on how to do this but I am not allowed to add attachments (because I'm a newbie?)
Works Fine (so far)
Thanks for everyone's feedback!
Fuses 111 & 144 in the wiring diagram cross reference to fuses F & G in the fuse table. The relay block is behind the driver's side dash. Turns out the relay panel is two pieces; the main (lower) piece and Aux (upper) piece. Both are retained...
Hey G Force,
That would be pretty helpful. I'm in Encinitas, where abouts are you?
Maybe I could buy it off you.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Gforce,
Yes, it seems like it is probably one of the door module, but I don't know why it intermittently goes off with the doors unlocked.
I see VCDS for sale at >$100 and "VCDS Lite" that looks like OBD2 connector cable to USB plug. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks for the links Rxfire,
I hope it does not come to unhooking the alarm horn...
I found the alarm fuses in the schematic (111 & 144) and the thread on pulling them. The poster says this worked to disable the alarm and did not trigger any interlock to make the car not functional aka he can...
Yes, I found that out when I pulled the fuse for the horn and it disabled the steering wheel horn but not the alarm horn. :-)
I did pull the battery out of the suspect key fob but the problem is that I had the car for two weeks before I had a night where the alarm went off three time in one...
Thanks for the input Dhawk. I think the issue might have been caused by the panic button on one of the key fobs, but it is so intermittent it is hard to be sure. I bought the car for my Mother and if started going off in the middle of the night at her place it would be a disaster. I have to make...
Thanks for the pic.
I'm stumped. Maybe they aren't in the relay panel? Wiring diagram shows power for the alarm coming from fuses S111 & S144. Another post says that they were able to disable the alarm without negative interlock by pulling these two fuses. Unfortunately the post is ~10yrs old...
2004 Jetta
I want to disable the factory alarm. Looking for location of fuse 111.
My understanding it is one of three fuses in the relay panel behind the driver side lower dash. I see what look like they might be three fuses, but they don't look like the normal blade fuses and I don't know which...
