I used a bolt to plug the vacuum line going to the egr valve and cleared all the codes and it seemed to help. I ran it that way until I got a new malone tune (chip) since I used a PD150 intake system including the mass air meter. I ended up putting the vacuum line back onto the PD150 egr valve...
You might be right about that. I've read where people run the larger PD150 MAF or other larger MAF and air box and don't re-tune. I wanted my car to be tuned for it.
I've contacted the normal tuners to get a new tune/chip made for my 99 Beetle but no one seems willing to take my money for some reason. Maybe it takes several weeks to respond to an email? I have a stage 4 Malone tune I originally bought in 2017, but recently added a PD150 intake manifold and...
It isn't the fuel shutoff solenoid, and it's not the computer, it is the egr N18 itself or the wiring to it. I don't know why the code was for the N109 solenoid. I have a collection of N109 solenoids now.
Thank you for your replies!
I thought the same thing! I did so many things related to the fuel system. I changed the filter twice, and put a new sending unit in. When I had that out the tank looked decent other than a couple pieces of plastic in the bottom. I sucked them out with the mityvac. So many different things could...
Hi,
Yes I checked the wires and I checked voltage to the N109 which was 10. I know it's supposed to be 12. I have my old ecu so I tried that and it was 12 volts so I thought that was it. I drove the car and with it warmed up, I shut it off, then re-started it and it did it again. Revved up then...
I have been searching for an answer for my problem and hoped someone with the same problem has fixed it. I drove my 99 Beetle home from work and filled it up. When I restarted it it revved up popped and then idled normally. I drove home and had very low power. I re-started the car, same symptoms...
I had code P1537 for N109 solenoid. I replaced it and it was better for one test drive, then it went back to no power above maybe 1/4 to 1/3 pedal. And when I started the car it revved up, then back down to a normal idle.
I'm not sure about your year, but on mine I had to loosen all the fuel lines from the injectors and turn the car over until all the air was purged and diesel was coming out. Once I did that it fired up.
Has anyone ever had their tdi fuel lines backwards on the pickup? I did and my car ran fine for about a month or so, then no start. That's when I found I had crossed them up the last time I changed the pick up in the tank. I got it started again but now I'm afraid to drive it since it left me...
I had a similar problem when I first bought my tdi. I changed the fuel filter, then couldn't get the car to start. It turned out I had a leak at the o-rings on the filter. I ended up buying some fatter o-rings from lowes, and I used a mighty vac to pull fuel from the tank through the filter...
