After reading about the positive results from others getting the 23Z8 fix, actually looking forward to getting this done. I've had the first "fix" done; what benefit is there to wait for this one?
Got to dealership and they don’t have my appointment in the system. And this month’s allotment of parts for 23Z8 are already accounted for. Super annoying
I am keeping mine. After playing around with the settings, I found D2 to be the best in terms of smoothness with the increased power delivery. It was set from the factory at D-2. Haven’t noticed a change in MPG (I’m getting around 30-31 calculated by hand).
last year my Q5 went into limp mode while on the highway, glow plug dash light came on and was flashing. The result was a bad EGR cooler and the dealer replaced under warranty. I had 66k miles at the time. Took the dealer 5 days to fix and they gave me a loaner car.
Can’t confirm that I had...
Popped open the chipwerke module today - set at D-1 from the factory. What does the second dial change and how does the first work? I’m confused trying to read the chipwerke website.
Really liking the chip. Got to drive the car on some backroads and the highway - power is much improved. Here’s...
100% stock for me aside from the chipwerke module. Haven’t had much of an opportunity to drive the car with the module yet. Also need to check settings on it as I just plugged into car as it came from chipwerke.
I use ODBEleven to reset the service due alert. Fits my needs and was cheaper to get over Ross. Functionality is similar to Ross. I’ve also used ODBEleven to change fuel filters in my TDI (you need to prime the system before starting the car after the new fuel filter is installed).
Just received mine and clipped it in. Instructions are a bit strange - they indicate connecting the chip to both the common rail and boost sensor. Im only seeing one way to connect the thing and that’s to the rail. Am I missing something here?
2015 Q5 TDI 3.0 engine.
Just ordered a chipwerke CW00221 for my 2015 Q5 TDI. Found that if you use code chipwerke10 you get 10% off.
Will report back once it comes and and gets hooked up!
This is the most important part for me. More of a safety thing than anything else as I’d like the power to be there when I need it.
Any discount codes at this time for the chip? Maybe a Labor Day sale coming up?
Really happy to hear the positive feedback. Making me want to buy a chip myself and give it a shot. How is initial throttle lag from a stop? That lag has been my biggest pet peeve about the car.
I’d be very curious to hear how the chipwerke box affects your TDI. I have a Q5 TDI that I’m considering doing this to. Mythdoc seems to like it. Will be watching for your follow up, Midwesthick!
Picked up a 2015 Q5 TDI that’s been fixed by the dealer a month ago. Still under warranty. I haven’t been able to find a clear answer on how a Malone or JR tune would impact the warranty if something were to happen. Are these tunes completely reversible if I needed to bring the car in for...
