Hey Heinz - these gtg's certainly have come a long way from the first one at Carkeek park! Sorry I missed this one - and missed meeting all the new folks. Next one at the grand opening in March???
whuts the name of this pub, Bill? it would be kinda cool to go to the pub...[/QB]
It's the Skagit River brewing company. Big open informal place that could accomodate a reaonable sized group and adequate parking in the area as I remember. It's just a bit north of the main Mt. Vernon exit right...
Bummer - just found out we're having house guests that weekend. Just FYI, last I looked, there was a good brew pub in Mt. Vernon, too. Great sausage plate as I recall....
Sounds like a good idea to me given the current monsoon-like weather and the lack of a submarine upgrade.... Weekends of Jan 19 - 20 and Feb 2 - 3 look good for me.
>When will the insanity end .......Only Bill knows after he shows us his new ride !!!![/QB]
Hey, Heinz - Now if I could just slip one of those slick European TDI's into the Eurovan.... Might just show up in it anyway just in case we need to make a heavy duty beer run!!
A refresher on...
Sorry to have to miss out on another GTG.... Bummer! We'll just have to have a back yard bbq - or hang out at a good pub if the weather gets really nasty. I could always set up a picnic table in the garage.....
I'm still here and definitely up for at GTG and/or drive. I just might be able to make this one - but plans are always up in the air until the last minute. Your schedule sounds good, Heinz.
The Oct 13 weekend might work - have to double check family plans (things the "boss" assumes I know about....).
Picked up a new EuroVan MV about a month ago. Beautiful green, alloys with high performance Dunlops. Sure wish it had a TDI though....
I suspect everyone is just doing late summer family stuff. I'm still bummed about missing the last GTG, so I'll be looking forward to the next - sometime Sept to early Oct???
I agree with Heinz. "Technically" you void the warrantee with a chip (though probably not with a replacement panel air filter of your choice). And the "snow" screen removal is just common sense and quite invisible. But at the very least....trust me....you want a chip...you really want a chip...
Re: NW Fred\'s TDI CLUB
How about 10:00 at Les Schwab in Monroe? Heinz - if you are coming, you could swing by my place NLT 9:30 and we'll head up to Monroe on 522.
Brandon - great news about the house! It will be an adventure.
Just for additional feedback, my mileage around the greater Seattle area is around 47 - 48mpg, and longer trips (Bay area, Oregon coast, WA coast) have been in the 52 - 56mpg range. I drive smoothly but not necessarily conservatively (but enjoy my chip now and then...), usually shift around...
Re: NW Fred\'s TDI CLUB
This Leavenworth loop drive could be fun. Might just do it myself if nobody else is interested. Another stop on the way back is Roslyn just off I90. I agree about Sunday being the best day from a traffic standpoint. Heinz - keep me posted.
