Ok that was my thought looking at things, but never hurts to play it safe. Dealing with different cars and knowing some coolants don't play nice mixed together, it didn't hurt to ask. Thanks!
I know my 02 Jetta TDI has a VW spec of G12. Just ordered a couple gallons of factory coolant and seen that it is the newer spec G13 OEM fluid. Haven't opened either gallon container, as if it isn't the right stuff, I want to be able to return it. Can it be safely utilized in these era...
With the headliner doing what it was doing I have put serious thought into just replacing both together since it will already be down. OEM was good when it was in better shape.
Will have to look into that being an option here locally or if it is something I do end up deciding to tackle. Don't really WANT to with the headliner but can if necessary as it has to get done eventually. As for the antenna, I think the mast is all I need and should be a quick fix but knowing...
02 Jetta the driver's side back door does that where it sometimes locks or unlocks when the remote is used. It will open when using the handle inside, but sometimes not always unlock or lock when using the keyless. Something to look at on mine as well using some of the advice posted here.
Thanks for the feedback Rembrant. I had done a bit of digging and seen they are a 2 piece deal. Seems the base is good and I MIGHT get by with just a new antenna. Will probably stick to a similar to OEM kind as it did last a long time before finally having issues. As for the headliner, will...
The headliner is looking VERY rough in my 2002 Jetta and I am trying to figure out
A. What options there are to replace the headliner/antenna
B. Is it something I can/am willing to tackle
C. Cost of replacement (parts, labor, etc)
Could the antenna be as simple of a fix as screwing a new one...
Just figured out the reason my coolant fans weren't working. The box up top on the battery has power but the fuse and its slot look like it got hot. Has been cleaned out with a file and works for now. Ordering a replacement anyways as it is a cheap fix. I think a coolant flush is coming too...
My fans went out earlier this summer. Parked the car to save a bit of $$ (had another ride as it is close to a timing belt). Sure enough, it is the fuse on the battery. Both fans kicked on after pulling it and cleaning the slot and fuse. It looked like it has gotten very hot as it is kind of...
Perhaps hskrdu. As far as I know this is the original mast as I know I haven't put a different one on it and that has been nearly the past 10 years now. Will probably just go for the mast right now and hope for the best. I know when I put foil or my hand or something around the exposed part...
Thanks Rembrant. I am willing to bet that was the issue here, along with exposure to the sun's UV rays.
Looking at the various options, this one seems like a good one, but there are a couple others...
Hey all. The plastic/rubber covering that went over the factory antenna crumbled away, and as a result my radio signal has been far diminished from where it was. Been this way for a while and want it fixed. Looking around there are plenty of reasonable options price wise. Any replacement...
Do we have any motorcycle riders/enthusiasts here? If so, what do you have? Personally, I have a 2014 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Sportster. Have you seen a diesel bike in person? Seen a couple on YouTube. Here's one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgsxiKslwRU
Lots of good info here and on another thread elsewhere. Looks like whatever I decide to get will get to be tested out as there is supposed to be 1-3 more inches of snow. Goodie.
BUMP. Have run Michelin MKIVs the last 2 sets but a bad ball joint this last set has sabotaged this recent set. Previous set I got right around the 80,000. Seen this thread has been quiet. Seen the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus at a place here which is rated for 80. Has good reviews on...
Was filling up after announcing in Jacksonville, Illinois at Jacksonville Speedway for the Sprint Car race there. Went to the Shell on the main drag to fill up (.12-.18 cents cheaper than home) and seen a 2010 bluish-silver Golf Auto Station Wagon. Talked to the young Asian woman (I believe...
Been doing it for maybe a month(ish). Haven't had a chance to yank the RF wheel off. It starts at about 25, gets really bad between 30-40, then slacks off but is still pretty bad even at speed. However, this is with acceleration of any kind. As soon as I roll out of the gas, it stops...
Due for new pads. Anyone have any luck with a particular pad lasting longer than others. Don't necessarily need racing caliber brakes, just safe and reliable. Curious as to what fellow TDI Club members are running. Thanks!
