I was battling between the Pitaka and Scosche mount. I didn’t like that I had to add plates to my phone or case with the Scosche. Ultimately went with Scosche though because I already had a case and didn’t want to spend $80 (USD) on case and charger. You may have changed my mind though.
I did...
I didn’t even think about a fuse tap. That’s a great idea. I was otherwise going to drill a hole in the bottom of the arm rest and run a long cable from the lighter socket in there to the dash. But would need at least 6-8’ I think.
Thanks for the idea.
By far filling from underneath, with the appropriate screw in adapter. You put “all of the fluid in,” leaving the filler hose connected. Run the car to temp. When you’re at temp remove the hose and plug with your thumb. Then put the drain plug back in. Done. Put the hose back into the fluid...
I should have clarified. I want to use the power for a Qi phone charger, and don’t want a long cable going from arm rest to dash. Looking to mount it on the LH side vent. But that’s not a bad idea.
I started driving for Uber eats and the app just absolutely annihilates my battery.
Where did you source that? I am wanting to add something similar to my Golf. I want to have a USB C port somewhere in the dash area. How did you tap into power?
What cubby?
I too have a similar sound on my car every once in a while. At first I assumed heat shield, but could not find one loose. Then I assumed turbine wheel. It's like when you have a headache and your immediate thought is brain cancer.
Hasn't caused issue yet, so I haven't spent significant time...
Interesting that I am not the only one experiencing this issue. It is only ever the first start of the day, at least 5 of the 7 days of a week. When I initially bought the car, I figured it was a fuel filter issue, as the car had 36,000 miles and had been sitting in a lot for a few months. I did...
Reading threads like this make me less worrisome about loss of oil when checking the dipstick. My dad is a die-hard 3,000 mile conventional, 5,000 mile synthetic oil change guy. He has always been. Their last Subaru had 140,000 miles when they traded it in and didn't burn an ounce of oil - but...
Forgive me, but what does "drive on the kick down" mean?
What is your current mileage on your TDI? You've got the engine tune, so obviously no worry about losing the warranty.
I did the oil change myself. However, it was the first oil change in my possession after the buyback. I was not aware I could change the interval - assuming that’s what happened. I wasn’t sure how advanced the sensors were; although I doubted it, I thought maybe it could sense driving conditions...
If the interval recommended by VW is 10,000 miles (as I intended) why do I get an oil change change reminder at about 6,000 miles?
I changed my engine oil just shy of 40,000 miles and reset the maintenance warning. I am now at 45,000 and am being told to schedule an oil change.
Am I missing...
Yeah there was a ton with hail damage that I found when looking. If you don’t mind some cosmetic issues you can find some really low mile cars. Some dealers still are asking ridiculously high prices IMO for some.
Was at the drive-thru today and heard a rhythmic tapping sound that went away when I released the brake. I then remembered my belly pan is missing the three larger T40 torx screws. Anyone know the thread size? Google images (IDParts, etc) show they look like standard thread and not sheet metal...
I got this the other day on my car too - after taking a really sharp turn on a bumpy road. Figured it was due to my driving and possibly salt on the terminals (it’s winter in Wisconsin).
It went away and hasn’t come back.
Maybe they’re just cheap ones. Hmm.
