Tdi ALH cutting power/jerking on acceleration

I would try an OEM crankshaft position sensor. I had similar issues with my 03. Did not set a code for almost 2 years before a complete failure set the code. Not expensive and easy to change out.

    1J0-953-513-01C Headlamp dimmer switch needed....

I have a 2003 VW Jetta TDI. On the way to work this morning, my low beam lights stopped working, only have high beams. It is the headlamp dimmer switch, part # 1J0-953-513-01C. It is no longer available from Volkswagen. I prefer OEM when possible. Has anyone else had to replace this with non...

    cutting out

I second Oilhammers diagnosis. Mine drove me crazy, would cut out and then take about 15 minutes before it would start again. Wouldn't set a code. Finally one day, after about a year of this, it finally set a code. Replaced the CPS, and that solved my problem.

2002 Jetta ALH does not restart after running for 15 minutes or longer

Just a wild guess, but replace the crankshaft position sensor. My 03' Jetta did the same thing. Drove me crazy for a year before I finally hit on it. Car would not send a code indicating the the CPS was acting up. Solved my problem. Not expensive or hard to do.

Had to beg the insurance company and repair shop to not total out the car. 2001 VW Jetta TDI. Had about 300,000 miles on it at the time. Up to 347,000 miles today !!

I have done searches, and as usual, there is a whole gamut of valve covers. From Chinese knockoffs to OEM valve covers. Just seeing what others have used and how did they work out.
