I have an '06 w/ 182k miles on it. I have a Malone 2+ tune on it. I've notice throughout its lifetime that it smokes a little white or blue-gray on start-up half of the time. I never have had to add oil nor coolant. I also puff out a little black on heavy acceleration. It seems to depend a lot...
Dws's are what I'm going with in the spring. I do love running blizzaks in the winter tho. Currently I'm running some used falkens on the front and blizzaks rear cuz two of my blizzaks were worn out.

The Performance Omaha dealership uses a BG DSG oil that is pink. I like most BG products but this one scared me when I got my next dsg service. My car with 164k mi has had at least one non vw gear oil service and it is now on it's 3rd Mechatronic unit. I can't substantiate it but it is possible...
I'm not saying I'm an expert or that the dsg is the best. U know I've had issues with mine. I simply appreciate it at least for the ingenuity that the designers intended. I just wanted to get a little rise out of u, ha.

Don't be a dsg hater. They cost more but they are fun for an auto and they are quite amazing when u drive any other standard auto and consider how they work.

You might try Schworer in Lincoln
YOu might try Schworer in Lincoln, or even Performance before you give up. Just make sure that you don't have any dents or scratches in the vicinity that the dealers could claim were causing the rust due to a break in the protective seal.
Rhett-e unfortunately you missed killabee by a couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get up there Fri night or possibly Sat early to pick up mine if it's ready. If mine is not ready and if I've switched my flight then could I get a ride back to the Lincoln Omaha area? I assume that's where I are from...
'06 CAN Bus module?
Does anyone have a 06 Jetta CAN Bus module or a car that I could borrow the CAN bus to try in my car to determine if that is my no-start issue? I'd only need to borrow it long enough to take it out and then try it in mine... assuming that I don't have to reprogram my car to...
I'm possibly having the same problem. Any luck in fixing it. I realize its been a few years since you posted. Help is appreciated

Killabee needs a bigger wrench
I've got a big ol pipe wrench for yah. SO yeah when are we gonna go for a beer? I won't be driving super long distances for a while. My old 95 F150 is a great truck, but it's not a long haul vehicle. 40 gal of fuel only gets me about 450-500 miles ;)
I live in Lincoln. I'd be interested in gtgs for repairs and mods. I'm sitting dead right now with a DSG issue that I'm thinking is electronic based on my scan. The dealer just did an ABS module a few months ago

So I know I'm changing the subject but how about a get together up at Losha's shop? Losha I suggest u throw out the best dates/times for u. Then we can pick from that list. Besides, I think my wheel bearing is getting worse.

Just me being selfish, but I'll be our of state for a couple of weeks for work so I'm going that you guys don't schedule a gtg while I'm away. I'll be back after the 18th.

It's running great so far. I'm looking all of the power and it pulls really well. I'm guessing I may still have some small exhaust leaks and I haven't touched the timing at all since you got it in spec. I miss a little fuel economy but I haven't taken it on many longer troops with out pushing...
