Dalon,
How are you liking your Stage 1 BFI mounts and Vibra-Technics Subframe Bushing after all these miles? I'm currently looking into both Subframe swapping and engine mounts for a 2013 Passat NMS CKRA (I promise I don't hate myself), so your post is exactly what I'm looking for.
Yes, I knew it needed a turbo, but damn. It was just 4oz ~ 5oz in the lower boost hose/intercooler after 800 to 1000 miles.
I'm aware of one other catastrophic failure but that car was under warranty. Best part is the new Borg turbo on that new engine failed in under 5k miles... VW dealership...
Turbo is very, very dead:
Borescope revealed metal in the cylinders. Cannot turn the crank at all.
Currently looking for a passat parts car on the east coast, but for the meantime I picked up a 2013 Passat SEL Premium 2.5L which will be a nice (often call "boring" by idiots) car and will...
I'm seeing $4500~$7000++ via parts.vw.com checking various dealerships: 03L100035L
I have a parts car Jetta with CJAA I could use, at least the Passat with CJAA would likely be more reliable o_O
edit - I took this Friday off to work on the car
1. It can't have that much diesel in the oil. Next to impossible.
2. It had to have been overfilled before I drove the car that day.
3. I can't blame the other person who drove my car that weekend, because they didn't add oil.
4. I must have overfilled it before they borrowed the car.
Huge L...
I've been taking baby steps. Cleaned out garage at family friends' house. Rolled the car in. I haven't yet pulled the glow plugs.
I checked the oil just now. Which is something I did shortly before driving the car last week after it had been driven and been at rest for an hour or so. I didn't...
Let me start by saying, I am glad this happened on a local road, and I was able to coast into a calm parking lot to wait for a tow.
I have been monitoring my 174k mile 2013 Passat TDI SEL Premium's oil leak (cam/crank seal) and I had just checked the oil before I left; it was where it was...
I've been in your shoes. LHD Bit is the way. just use a variable speed drill and start small and slow and work your way up. take your time. in my case it was oil in the threads that made the bolt stretch more evenly and not reach torque spec. rookie mistake. add a drop of oil to the broken bolt...
And IDParts can't guarantee it will arrive either. They aren't getting some of their orders from some suppliers; just have open orders waiting for fulfillment.
Last week I ordered the Garret OEM turbo kit and it arrived east coast from UK in 3 days, everything except the braided oil feed line looks OEM. Hoping to install it soon.
