    16 Jetta TSI

I'd buy one again in a heartbeat. It was a great car for me, although I got rid of it before 20k and can't attest to its longevity.

    Overheating Issue

No need, until apparently now. Block radiator in winter, remove in summer. Worked fine for 100k miles.

    Overheating Issue

We finally got some warm temps the last few days, and it appears that I have an overheating issue now. My cooling fans have been inop for the past several years, but its never had a problem maintaining temperature, especially when its only 75-80* outside. So I've had my radiator blocked...

    AC Compressor Bogging Engine

Cooled down for a half hour and it acted like normal, cycling on and off. A lot of clutch/metal debris flinging out so I’m thinking it’s a bad clutch like you said.

    AC Compressor Bogging Engine

So it got warm enough the other day I decided to use the AC. On the freeway, it acted fine, although it seemed like I had an intermittent power loss (ever so slightly) which I figured was the ac compressor but it was more than normal. Going through town the loss of power was much more evident...

    16 Jetta TSI

While it does have great low end torque, below 1400 RPM's the TDI is much stronger, especially on take off. Slipping the clutch in the TSI took throttle input to not stall, while the TDI really doesnt. I would attribute that probably to the inertia of the TDI's internals vs the gasser.

    Green Tinge Engine Oil

Yes, it had a lifter failure due to the cam at 259k. It got a stock replacement kit from bora. Around 245k it got a tandem pump. Other then that I just drive it. I was thinking that about diesel and oil just mixing but it's very clear this does not mix with the oil, as it sits at the surface.

    Green Tinge Engine Oil

It very well could be fuel, I just didn't know if the dye could concentrate like that as it is much darker/more prominent then what D2 looks like on its own. It has what I assume are stock injectors, with ~278k miles on them. It did get a new tandem pump about ~30k ago. It doesn't really smell...

    Green Tinge Engine Oil

Interesting on the metals aspect of it, I hadn't considered that. I'll do a UOA and see what it says. It did get a cam/lifters about ~15k miles ago. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's a little more prominent to the naked eye. I would be slightly less concerned if all of the oil had a hint...

    Green Tinge Engine Oil

Oil has about 6000 miles on it, and its showing a green tinge/ streak through it. It's not coolant, obviously. I was thinking diesel dilution, but it is very green in comparison to what D2 is. Oil is either T6, TdT, or Delo 5w40...I honestly can't remember. Lol at photobucket below \/

    WTB PD150 injectors

Or stock injectors with larger nozzles. Or stock injectors. I really just need a set of injectors, mine are tired and I would like to just throw a set in one afternoon instead of waiting for a rebuild.

Green Diesel Engineering Beta Testing Review

Applejacks I agree with everything you wrote above, minus the hard shifting for me. Apparently the tranny software is different for the earlier cars, and I have zero hiccups on that front. We are turning ours in next Saturday. I am taking the tune off, and sending the unit back to GDE with a...

    16 Jetta TSI

Yeah mine suffered a minor ding this winter. Backed over a mound of frozen gravel, hidden under snow thanks to our garbage truck driver. Bent the drivers side rear mudflap enough to break some mounts for the rear bumper. I think we have 18,500 on it now. I stopped DD it when I got my 04 back...

    $1,000,000,000,000 in Auto DEBT

Amex use to backdate if you added a authorized user to your Amex. So if you have had one since the 80's, and you added someone as an authorized user, it would magically show up on their credit as them opening it up back in the 80's. They might still do this.

Is a H8 size battery too big for '03 ALH?

I just put an H8 in my MKIV and there is no way to get the tray to fit around the battery. It sits in there and contorts the plastic into an odd shape. I bolted it down for now but need to go back and figure something out.
