Yeah, I'm really not too eager to open up the wire harness to replace this connector body with the proper "repair" part (1K0927903R). The extended forecast here is dry, so I'll source a new connector body part 1J0973802 and code out the brake pad sensor input from Address 17 - Instruments for...
A few weeks back when it was hot in NW OH, my wife mentioned that the "check brake pads" warning came on randomly while driving. A few days later, the warning came on for me while making a left turn. I inspected the outer pads (with wheels on) and found plenty of friction material was left on...
@epsux -- We assume that the key your fob will start the engine in the ignition switch (that is, it is paired with the immobilizer).
Remote fob functions are implemented in the CECM/BCM J519, fitted under the instrument panel above the driver side footwell. You should scan the car with a VAG...
I think the OP is referring to the freeze frame dates, which are not reported correctly for the CJAA engine control module. The freeze frame dates reported from our 03L906019DA by VCDS are always in the past by 4-5 years (and with my Foxwell NT510, are way in the future). The "mileage" in km...
The amount (weight) and type (R134a) of refrigerant should be noted on a sticker affixed to the front lid/engine hood: the spec for our '11 wagon is 525 grams. --g
This:
9481748 - High Pressure Sensor
B10AE 14 [009] - Open or Short to Ground
I would start here: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/22501/post-196443 --g
My guess here is that the car was still covered by the 10-year/100K mile warranty extension of April 2018, so they got it in just-in-time: https://www.vwdiesellookup.com/pdf/VWCourtSettlement_Emissions_Disclosure_Gen2_Automatic_Final.pdf
@reganalexys -- What are you using to scan for DTCs ? Why not post the scan results here following the guide offered by Ross Tech: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/101/ --g
With the low-line BCM, I expect that we need a load resistor on the -M1- "parking/city light" circuit, for example, pin T10l/10 for the left headlight connector:
which was the point of my reference, above.
But the DRL is the 15W element of the H15 low-beam bulb -M29-, which is pin T10l/4 in...
Re the "bulb out" code, I think the standard low-line BCM doesn't have the capability to code this out: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/parking-city-lamp-with-led-to-long-code-or-not.9443447/
I have a mid-line BCM pulled from a Tiguan that has outputs for front fog lamps that is on my to-do...
BTW, tell us about this project. I don't mind the factory halogens in our '11, but we've had HIDs in our earlier A4s for 10 years (LEDs in our newer A4), and if we keep the wagon for a while longer, I might consider this update. --g
Yeah, that's the right idea -- and you know it is supposed to work, as you demonstrated earlier. In this case, the aftermarket lid handle/camera needs only +12V to operate, and ideally, only when reverse gear is selected (that is, when needed to operate). My guess is the CAN bus converter...
@Garrison -- The Eonon site shows their Android units have power/gnd and composite video input for a backup camera:
For applications that have an OE RVC low camera fitted (like our retrofit or later production models), they require a component-to-composite video converter:
In this case, it...
The correct source for switched +12V for the camera is fuse panel C, but the OE camera can be supplied Terminal 30 (unswitched) power at SC16, according to the wiring diagrams. The OE RVC low camera gets its trigger "signal" from the BCM by way of the reverse lamp -M17- in the right tail light...
The Chinese market RCD330 radios do VAG long coding, see this post: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/9491/post-97298
I expect the aftermarket Android will have some kind of setup screens. --g
