Good to hear all is working well so far. I wouldn't dilute the coolant. While water is better than coolant at transferring heat, it also boils earlier than coolant. It's kinda a catch 22.

The cooler is on top of the Trans and is coolant cooled. Not sure if there are any direct fit large replacement coolers available but I don't think so. . To get an additional radiator type cooler would take some custom work.

That's a good thought. If it was just idling it could have just filled the cooler until it cut off the air and gulped the oil up all at once. That would be neat.

If you pull the injectors out and crank, if it turns, it will spray fuel all over. If you remove the tandem pump first it won't pump fuel into the head and will minimize fuel getting into the cylinders. Are you planning to just try and get it going for one last hoorah or investigating the...

I agree group 013 is worth a look. From the original post I believe the injectors were replaced post injection pump replacement to cure the smoking. Could be wrong tho about the order of things. I suppose there's no reason contamination can't kill two sets of injectors. .

Having a leaking injector looks like overfueling. You will usually get a grey/black haze out of the exhaust at idle and it can get worse with rpm/load. Instead of injecting only when it's supposed to, it will dribble before and after the main intended injection. Dribbly fuel doesn't burn proper...
