I have a 2015 Passat. DEF fluid is full but says it’s empty. I got the no start and used VCDS to start it a few times. Now it starts but I have the red DEF light. Is there a level sensor or is it built into the heater assembly? This model has several plugs on the bottom of the tank. Any pointers...
New turbo, valve cover, getting quite a bit of oil in the pipe going to the intercooler. Tried soaking the pistons with top engine cleaner. DPF got stopped up so I deleted it. Bought the car as is.
Does anyone know how much it would cost to have a 2013 tdi ckra engine rebuilt? Is it worth it or should I consider a junk yard engine. The thing is burning oil like crazy and I have tried everything.
None on the ground. After the delete it smokes quite a bit. Last time I took the hose off it had about half a cup In it. Plus the gas mileage is not very good. I bought it for my daughter because mine gets 42.
2013 Passat whipping me good. Oil consumption, poor fuel economy, new turbo and a delete and tune, did a piston soak with no help. Now blowing intercooler hose off and it has a more than normal amount of oil in it. I feel the oil is being lost there. Any ideas?
I did the soak and this thing is still using a lot of oil. And now with the new turbo it’s blowing the hose off at the intercooler. Could a stopped up intercooler cause oil usage ?
That’s why we buy these cars. Great gas mileage and they will go forever. This is my 3rd one. I think the old ALH motors were the best then the liberals and their emissions ruined it. My old Jetta had 300,000 on it when I wrecked it. I have a 2015 Passat with 158k on it and so far it’s doing...
rwlucas I feel your pain. Your story sounds exactly like mine. New turbo ( and that is a mother to replace ), valve cover, I just did the delete. Runs great now but using oil and stinks like hell driving it. Definitely going to give this a try. Thank you for posting this. Please keep this post...
Here is where I am at now. Took it to a reputable VW shop that charges Dealer prices! ( he did work at a dealer for years). He did the timing belt/ seals/ a sensor then wanted to replace the DPF for $3,000. So I brought it home and did a delete with Rawtek/tunezilla. It now starts faster, runs...
Thank you so much turbobrick240, that was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to give us all such helpful information that will be on here for years to help others troubleshoot their vehicles.
Have you been able to solve this issue. I have a 2013 tdi. I have replaced the valve cover and the turbo. Car runs great no smoke, no oil on exhaust tips. No check engine light. Using 2 quarts every 400 miles. I noticed there was a question about it starting hard. Mine sometimes turns over slow...
I replaced the valve cover. No help. I replaced the turbo due to oil in the pipe coming coming from the inter cooler. Now I don’t seem to have any oil leaks but it is still using 2 quarts every 500 miles. The two inner manifold holes were saturated with oil when I replaced the turbo. Two outer...
Thank you for the information. I will definitely give this a look. I noticed when I changed the valve cover it looks like there should be another gasket under the plate that holds the cam down. Is that a possibility?
