Definitely need to get it scanned with VCDS to get the readings from the adblue components in order to determine what is wrong.
I've replaced pretty well everything in the system, minus the tank, and I still get a countdown most times after having the adblue topped up.
Yep, that's why I'm asking for experience in actually doing the repair. From other threads, the dealership recommends replacing the entire fueling system without investigation.
Looking for experience on potentially testing and cleaning injectors and fuel rails instead of replacing?
Does the...
For the last 110k km since I've owned it.
Been maintained at the dealer until out of warranty, and then by my mechanic who is meticulous and very reliable.
Will look to see if we can get the fuel tested. It about 5 weeks since it failed so might be screwed at his point.
Always. Was super diligent with maintenance. Full oil and filter change ever 10K kms (manual says 16k). Never had anything look suspect. Most recent service was 5K km before the pump blew.
Never with any consistency. Every once in awhile I'd use the shell v power diesel which is supposed to...
Mileage in the thread title (265k km/165k miles).
Diagnosis: flashing glow plug light followed instantly by no power, and no start.
Metallic dust found in fuel filter and in the screen after the fuel pump.
Faults:

P0263/P0278/P0269 injector faults

Yea I was getting a little thrown off because I'm 90% sure the CBRB has a CP4.2.
I know the CP3 conversion can be done. But from what I've read, there is a fair amount of modification required to make it fit.
Joining the HPFP Grenade Club. Lucky me!
Way over warranty, and understand that the recommendation is to replace everything in the fueling system.
Has anyone had any experience not doing the full replacement? What were you able to salvage?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Alright so this what came back from my scan this morning. As suspected the four faults that I had previously mentioned. Any thoughts?
6 Faults Found:
31036 - NOx Sensor 2 Bank 1
P22A1 00 [096] - Signal too Large
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear...
I've had it happen with third party DEF, dealership fill up, and at my independent mechanic.
Can almost guarantee the codes will be P204f, P229F, P20EE, and P207F. They are all NOX catalyst/sensor faults.
Just got the Treg back from a 260k km service. 300km driven, CEL, and adBlue countdown.
Seems that almost every time the adBlue is topped up, it gives me a count down.
Anyone have a similar experience?
Agree with everything Leroy said.
Before I purchased my 2015, I spent a lot of time reading through the threads on this forum as well as Club Touareg which have some great info. I have still had issues come up with mine.
General consensus would be to make sure you have a good independent...
