My wife's 2000 NB had a break pad fall out. This ruined the rotor on the drivers side but the passenger side rotor and pads are fine (about 95% left on pads).
Should I replace both rotors and pads or is it ok to just do the the side with the bad rotor?
I'm inclined to do both but am really...
Dallas TDI expert!
I found Marin here in the TDI club as I needed a new mechanic since we moved to the Dallas area.
Marin quickly found the problems I had with loss of power and a non-functioning A/C on my 98 Jetta TDI. As it turned out the problems were quick and cheap to fix and I had my...
Adjusting shift linkage on a 98 Jetta
How hard is it to adjust the shift linkage on a 98 Jetta? Mine is getting hard to shift. If it's a tough job is anyone available to do it for a reasonable price? I am in St. Paul.
Thanks,
Jon
Hey guys,
My 98 Jetta got broken in to the other day and I need to replace the dash and front passenger side window.
I got the replacement parts from the junkyard but I am worried about the airbag on the passenger side going off. Do I have to worry?
Also, are there any tools I need to get...
Yep, yet another vote for Frostheater.com. Terry happens to live in my area so I had him install it for me. He is a great guy and has a clean shop with plenty of heaters in stock.
He has all the tubes pre-cut and good instructions for either a self install or your local TDI guru.
Well...
Ok, I cracked the injector line nuts and I am not gettin any fuel what so ever. I also pulled out the case pressure regulator and tapped it back together as the little gizmo had started to "walk" out.
I have tried to pull the fuel through the ip return with my Mityvac but it just does not...
Ok, found 2 bad GPs but parts store only had one. I installed the new one but still no start (I am searching for another one as I type).
Two questions:
1. Where is the anti-shutter valve, and how do I check it. I searched the forums and there are alot of posts telling you to check it but...
Thanks to all for their sugestions. I will be working on it tomorrow..err today, to see if I can narrow it down. I am still hoping it is something simple.
My wifes 00 beetle won't start for some reason. It got colder here (30s)and her car had a hard time starting one morning. It cranked ok but it took about 6 tries to get it going. The car ran fine and started for her after work. The next morning same thing but it would not start at all and...
I did find a picture of it in another post after "ninedee" pointed me in the right direction, just search for 109 relay replacement. From what I read a replacement is a good thing to have on hand.
Ok, my wife's 2000 TDI Beetle makes a wierd noise at startup. It sounds like "ERRRUUuuwwww" and it lasts for 2 secs then stops. It happens on most startups but not all.
Some other posts said something about dust in the starter but to me it sounds like it is coming from the clutch.
Any ideas??
I am looking to replace my seats in my 98 Jetta with something more comfortable. My wife has a 2000 Beetle (TDI of course  ) and I love her seats. Does anyone know what VW seats will work without a ton of modifications? A bolt on solution would be the best.
I searched the forums but...
